Title: Angry white men Post by eau de sauvage on 11/05/18 at 22:20:55 Hey Serow I think this is what you alluded to earlier today... https://edition.cnn.com/2018/11/05/us/angry-white-man-john-blake/index.html Yet there is a surprising body of work in literature and psychology that speaks to this tendency of some white people -- in particular, white men -- to quickly see the face of terror in an "other." They do so by projecting some of the uglier, repressed aspects of themselves onto others. This form of racism as projection is part of what the author James Baldwin wrote about in his essay, "Letter from a Region in My Mind." He wrote that the racial tensions menacing America "are involved only symbolically with color." "These tensions are rooted in the very same depths as those from which love springs, or murder. The white man's unadmitted -- and apparently, to him, unspeakable -- private fears and longings are projected onto the Negro." This form of projection formed the psychological backdrop for slavery. |

What was the psychological basis of capturing and riding horses? Utter foolishness, really. Grow up. Slavery is as old as civilization. Whites didn't start it and blacks weren't the only slaves. Indian tribes captured Indians, and guess where the black slaves came from..... Sold to the slave traders By OTHER BLACKS,,, A little knowledge is truly a dangerous thing, and you've demonstrated yourself to be a threat on many levels. |

Title: Re: Angry white men Post by eau de sauvage on 11/06/18 at 01:18:46 Oh the irony, angry white man disdains University published book that wins national book award that he has not read as 'psychobabble' while at the same time lapping up the babble of trump the certified psycho. Then finishes with 'grow up'. FFS When are you going to tell me Webster Mark's shoe size how many times do I have to ask. |

Title: Re: Angry white men Post by justin_o_guy2 on 11/06/18 at 04:37:07 Instead of believing I'm wrong because it's such a brilliant piece of work a Buncha lefties agree on, use YOUR brain and read what I said and explain why I'm wrong. You can't. Because what I said is correct. Slavery was about NEED. Not some psychological desire for control. Somebody had to do the work. Beasts of burden. Men enslaved Horses Mules Ox And other people. When labor needs required slaves, slaves were found, throughout the history of the world. Sure seems like the Color Blind Are really really focused on color. Trying to figure out Why they all look alike? Call Hillary, she's got it all figured out. |

Well then King Solomon, must have used his good buddies, and people from his court. to Mine the Salt. Because according to you, (by reading a book endorsed by, Kum-By-You Fairy Dust Sprinklers) You came to the conclusion, their was not any slaves, prior to the US. Of Course, absolutely NO slavery ever in Australia Source: https://www.creativespirits.info/aboriginalculture/history/australia-has-a-history-of-aboriginal-slavery#ixzz5W5RdwsGv Australia's slavery started because other countries abolished it. When the American Civil War cut off the world’s cotton supply, Australian slaves were used to establish cotton plantations in southern Queensland. A strong male would cost the modern equivalent of between $5 and $19, while women, particularly Tahitians, who were regarded as the most attractive, often fetched $32. Between 1842 and 1904 more than 60,000 men and boys from the South Pacific islands, and an unknown number of women and girls, were kidnapped and brought to Australia to work as slaves on the sugar plantations that still dot the country’s north-east coast. Between the 1860s and the 1970s, Aboriginal people of all ages were taken from their homes and sent to work on cattle and sheep properties all across Australia. Several such schemes were run by colonial and state governments, theoretically to protect Aboriginal Australians from mistreatment. And: Is there still slavery today? Yes. Between 2004 and 2014. The skin has changed but the snake is the same. It now looks like a girl forced into marriage at the age of 12; a hospitality worker who had her passport taken from her and is told that she must work 15-hour days to ‘repay her debt’; or sex-trafficked women shackled to beds. Still go's unanswered ! (Even after providing you with several links), after several requests. One more thing. Gee Wally, every, ranting post, you are sounding more and more like the he/she called tt. OH, what are tt’s shoe size ? |
