Title: Wisconsin, what that all about?
Post by eau de sauvage on 12/06/18 at 20:35:22

Madness in Wisconsin, is there no limit what what the old white guys will do to entrench power? First the judges, then disenfranchising voters sympathetic to the Dems and now an outrageous bill to strip incoming governor of powers to legislate.

The irony is that the satire from The Onion is not even satire, as the reality is far more bizarre.

https://politics.theonion.com/gop-controlled-wisconsin-legislature-votes-to-dissolve-1830857553

MADISON, WI—Passing the measure along party lines, the GOP-controlled Wisconsin legislature voted Tuesday to dissolve the 30th state admitted to the union rather than let governor-elect Tony Evers and other members of the Democratic Party have it. “This essential legislation officially dismantles the State of Wisconsin, thereby ensuring Democrats, who won every statewide executive office on the ballot last month, will have no legal authority within its borders,” said Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, explaining that it would be reckless to honor the fair election of Democrats to the state’s executive branch and far preferable for Wisconsin to cease existing and become instead a lawless wasteland of snow and ice.

“While we cherish the past 170 years of statehood, there is simply too much at stake right now to allow the clear will of the people expressed at the polls to ruin Wisconsin by putting Democrats into positions such as governor and attorney general.” At press time, the Republican-led legislature had passed a follow-up resolution naming outgoing Governor Scott Walker the Eternal God-King of the former state of Wisconsin.

And you don't like my sources, even though you can't demonstrate the points of the articles to be factually incorrect.
And you read the Frikken ONION?
And then believe it's actually happening?
I'm gonna be selling Burn Cream at a steep discount for Christmas.
You should get a five pound bucket.
It's not Strictly for losing an exchange.
It's just as good for self inflicted wounds.
Okay, you should probably get the ten pound bucket.

"The irony is that the satire from The Onion is not even satire, as the reality is far more bizarre."

He doesn't believe its entirely factual.

Or farcical.

It would be farcical were it not a parody of the truth. Frankly I'm amazed that it is even possible to do. It's been sobering over the past two years to see my rose tinted vision of the US stripped to what it is.

I wonder why on this political forum there is no robust debate about the shenanigans in Wisconsin. But it would seem that Americans don't rate it as a subject worthy of their attention in the political section. All I get is  "their [sic] matey" over and over what ever the fcuk that means!

It's probably more important to people in Wisconsin, but none of the regulars here are from there.

The reason why it didn't grab anyone's attention for long is 1) a left wing nut job posted it and 2) you posted it under the guise that this is some big, world changing, unheard of before story. Republicans in Wisconsin are trying to pull off some type of coup.....

Interestingly enough, you posted it near the anniversary of a Democratic candidate's near successful stealing of a Presidency in 2000.

So yea, the short answer is no one cares.

We have an update https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/03/wisconsin-judge-walker-evers-power-grab.html

How the fcuk are you able to ascertain that everyone else is like you. OK, you are claiming that the plainly undemocratic outrageous quashing of voter's choice of elected officials that the Republican Party actually attempted to write into law (and still might if they win the appeal), is of no interest to you because that is in Wisconsin and you're not from there. Now you may not care but when you speak for others on this forum not caring for the reason you laughably give, (when you could have said nothing) it does sound like the type of things that trolls do.

Well it's been called out for what it was, although what will now be interesting is the Supreme Court appeal.

Looks like you were ahead of the curve regarding the 'new socialist' meme which will define the next election. I have to give you that one, you must be an avid consumer of the white supremacist political media.

Who's election, Australasia, N. Zealand's, or the USA, which YOU are not a Citizen of ?
(You are claiming to be a, Subject, of Australasia)

Next are their no mountains 'down under' ?
That you need to make a mountain, out of a mole hill ?

Next: "...Efforts to use lame-duck sessions to bolster partisan power are nearly as old as the nation itself...."
Gee, guess it was not so bad, when a, 'socialist' type group did it.

Next. So great that now you and tt, are calling me a Nazi/white supremacist.
Clearly shows both of you diving in the dirt.

And finally, take a page out of Sarah Brady's book,
by stating a LIE, For 34 Years,
until people believe,
the popular, LIE, of a 'sound bite'.

Great Job, 'Matey'

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
