Government's only been shutdown for a few hours and one of those Halloween Costume places already moved in......

They only shut down stuff that the people need. They make
Our parks off limits. Beaches are closed.
Because They aren't overseeing them.
The waste and idiotic decisions continue.

I know people that work full and part time for the Fed Gov.
They are, ‘layed-off’ now.
Here is, ‘Observed Reality”, on what has happened in all the past, ‘shutdowns’, and what is happening now.

The past: Shutdown = PAID Vacation Days.
Because every time in the past, when the Fed Gov shut down, after they got back to work the Con/Rep’s/Pres, signed a one time bill, to reimburse them for their lost wages.
Don’t know if All of them did. I know the ones I know did.
For them, Shutdown = Paid Vacation Time,
which did not affect any accrued vacation as to their contract of employment.

Today: I am guessing, that the Fed Gov employees who are out of a job, temporarily, are ‘betting’ on they will be reimbursed for the time off, like in the past.
So, I believe, that is the reason, all the Bars, Restaurants, are plum full. And all the other places are doing a very big bang up business. Because many costumers, are, ‘betting’ on the fact, (as in the past), Instead of getting paid to sit at a desk, pushing a piece of paper back and forth. They get paid to sit at a bar, and bend their elbow.

Wonder why the Ultra Lefty, Progressive, Socialist Fairy Dust Sprinklers,
are not getting their panties in a bunch about that ?

Now in Jan or Feb. When the reports of how much money was spent in the last part of Dec.
GEE, Wonder how the T.D.S, people, will ’spin’ that ?
Will the, Ultra Lefty, Progressive, Socialist Fairy Dust Sprinklers, Say:
’Trump is really Stupid for doing that'
Or will they say:
’Trump is really Stupid for doing that’ ?

Most Government employees will be reimbursed for pay and associated benefits are not interrupted if the result of their absence is not due to their own actions or the actions of their immediate employer that is a violation of policy or of a Master Agreement for those groups that are unionized.

If it is the employees fault they do not get paid. Also essential or mission critical employees will report to work and not get paid until an agreement is reached.

I wouldn't say anyone suffers.

Certain optional programs are stopped, like visiting the Statue of Liberty, or entering Federal land reserves and parks. So people on vacation are inconvenienced.

Certain VA programs are shut down, and certain procurement operations are stopped, but most aren't.
