Title: Suggestions from Trump supporters Post by eau de sauvage on 01/15/19 at 19:43:52 I'm looking for suggestions of what Trump should do from supporters of Trump regarding the shutdown. Here's the situation as I see it... The money is there for border security but not 'the wall' and the Democrats are adamant to responsibly maintain this position. Trump has said he won't open govt. unless he gets specific 'wall' money. (In reality Trump would be happy for any face saving way out of this fiasco but he's hog tied himself with Saran Wrap). So seeing that the Democrats will not budge and that Trump is the one with the power to act, what, dear Trump supporter do you suggest is going to happen. What would like to see Trump do, just call an end to it, or do nothing at all and wait. Even better what do you expect to happen. It's already the longest shutdown on record and every day it breaks the previous record. It's been a month now. Is it OK for this to go on for a year? How do you see it ending. |

The economic impact of shutting down more and more airport terminals will be felt within a year, the major carriers like Fed-Ex and UPS will have issues delivering thus affecting fulfillment by retailers. A year wouldn't be pretty that's for sure. This utopian world where everything is better when the government isn't involved will come into perspective. |

Title: Re: Suggestions from Trump supporters Post by MShipley on 01/16/19 at 13:36:39 IN 2006 under the Bush Adm. a law was passed and 50 BILLION dollars were funded and appropriated to build a wall deterrent what ever you want to call it. However Obama, Pelosi and Shumer stole that money from the American people and it is now gone. I think Chucky and Pelosi should now give the 50 Billion to the new Administration to full fill what they did not do for the American people when the funds were first approved. Is Trump doing this for ego? maybe so, but so are Chucky and Pelosi who are just trying to keep their power. They can end this tomorrow just as well. And dont give me this crap about its so much money. The same people are spending 185 billion for a ship. |

" Downplay much? The "ship" is going to keep the US Navy from going into a crippling economic and manpower shortage within it's carrier groups. If we weren't using carrier groups daily it might not be a big deal but something had to be updated. |

Title: Re: Suggestions from Trump supporters Post by Serowbot on 01/16/19 at 16:07:08 "A 2017 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report, citing U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data, found that from fiscal year 2010 through fiscal year 2015, the U.S.-Mexico border fence had been breached 9,287 times, at an average cost of $784 per breach to repair" Bigger, better fence,... will cost more to repair. More fence,... more breaches... Crossers will win... ... building and maintaining a wall is expensive,.. ... breaching one is pocket change. It's all about economic feasibility. Trump's solution is to throw our money at it. ::) |

Title: Re: Suggestions from Trump supporters Post by eau de sauvage on 01/18/19 at 02:11:55 Well thanks for the replies, most interesting to get your take on this. However I am not surprised that non of Trump's fanboys have offered what he might do, should do or can do. After all he is the self proclaimed stable genius and most powerful human being on earth. Trump's brilliance has his cheer leaders, perplexed at the subtle and inscrutable chess game he's currently involved in. Surely all will be revealed soon. Mind you Trump is quite experienced at going into bankruptcy. |

Keep it real Eau. This "standoff" is yet another distraction from what's really going on. "We know that the President has engaged in a long pattern of obstruction," tweeted Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. "Directing a subordinate to lie to Congress is a federal crime. The @HouseJudiciary Committee’s job is to get to the bottom of it, and we will do that work." |
