My prediction is he'll announce end to shutdown for a given period of time. A month, 60 days, whatever. During that time frame, he'll demand Congress do something. At the end of that period, he'll declare a national emergency and use role as Commander and Chief and do something that way.

The battle will be over political perception, who wins.

My guess is Trump will agree to combination of more walls and electronic surveillance. Democrats will have to decide how to respond. Any additional wall can be spun as a Trump victory. The Dems will use their media allies to highlight the electronic surveillance portion of the agreement and claim victory.

In the end, it will be a wash. No one changes their view of Trump and the Dems still look weak on security.

Trump was never going to win this the way he wanted, I think I said that on here before. Too much media and entertainment culture to overcome. If the media went full on "Matthew Shepherd" and used that murdered policeman the way the did a murdered gay drug dealer, the bricks would be flying.

No matter what happens, trump lost.

He didn't (won't) get what he wanted. That's a loss, plain and simple.

I'm still holding out for a resignation.

Meanwhile, more coal plants have closed under Trump than in the entire 8 years of Obama.
The trade deficit with China has grown 17%, thanks to Trumps great negotiating skills.
N. Korea continues it's nuke programs.
ISIS is still killing our guys, in spite of being "defeated".
800,000 people have no paychecks.
59% of people think the wall is a waste of money. Only 21% approve.

The perception can only be what is, which is that there is no crisis and this is merely Trump holding the US hostage. 'gimme my money or I won't let you in'. He's more of a fcukwit that most people even thought.

Respond? The democrats said there is 1.3. billion available for border security just like last year but they think trumps wall is not the best way to achieve it. There's nothing to negotiate. It's irresponsible.

Anne Coulter finally has said something sane -lets just amnesty all the DACA children. I know she was being sarcastic but , since I do not know of many 3-10 year old children who would refuse to go with their mother if she moves, I can't see the purpose or moral or legal reason no to provide amnesty.
