Title: Mission Impossible Challenge Post by WebsterMark on 01/20/19 at 10:35:09 We had the ice bucket challenge a few years ago, we've got the 10 year before and after photo challenge going on now. I'd like to issue a Mission Impossible Challenge for the Tall Table. We've all probably see and read the story of the all boys Catholic High School surrounding and taunting an old Native American man with their MAGA hats and chanting build the wall etc.... Right? What if it was another example of Fake News? Or, at the very least, the poorest journalism imaginable? Here's the challenge. See the long video below. It's an 1:46 long. Turn the sound up. If the link doesn't work, Google Shar Yagataz Banyamyan facebook video. Watch this video and take the challenge. If you were a journalist, would you write the story the way it's been written in virtually every mainstream outlet I've seen? Or if you were a news editor, would you run just the short clips we've all seen? Would you describe the men exchanging words with the students as 'African-Americans preaching the Bible' as I've read? When the Bible teaching African-Americans tell the black student, whom they repeatedly refer to as ni**er in the video, that when he gets older the white students will steal his organs and sell them, would you include that in your story? When the old man appeared, would you say the teenagers 'swarmed and encircled' him? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-2z3en-oIo The video starts at the 44 minute mark, but back it up to the beginning. Go ahead, take the Mission Impossible Challenge. |

Title: Re: Mission Impossible Challenge Post by Serowbot on 01/20/19 at 11:17:32 I don't accept your premise... I haven't seen any stories saying 'African-Americans preaching the Bible' Show me some links... (I tried Googling that quote and got no stories like you suggest) In this video, I see three idiots surrounded by a bunch of people that disagree. In the native American video, I see the opposite. A bunch of boys ridiculing a man. Virtually opposite No equivalence, unless you count the commonality of religious bigotry. |

Title: Re: Mission Impossible Challenge Post by T And T Garage on 01/20/19 at 12:14:17 The fact is this - racism is racism. The guy at the beginning of the video is just as much a racist as the petulant kids who don't know what the hell they're chanting for. They actively mocked the Native American Elder. Stop trying to justify one brand of racism for another. Just like so many I've talked to about steve king - bringing up malcolm x. Evil is evil. Try and keep that in mind, hmm? |

Title: Re: Mission Impossible Challenge Post by WebsterMark on 01/22/19 at 07:00:15 Two epic fails. If anything, this demonstrates just how leftist the lefties on here are. Even some regular well know media wackos backtracked from an obviously biased story. This is how hands up, don't shoot lives on. This is how the Kavanaugh lies live on. Good for these kids standing up against the enemy of the people. |

Yeah, if the "enemy of the people" was the First Amendment. So pathetic you can't (or refuse) see that. |

Title: Re: Mission Impossible Challenge Post by LostArtist on 01/22/19 at 12:57:17 I'll just say it's more complicated than the original knee jerk reaction stories let on. just because the kids are standing up against the hebrew isrealites, as they call themselves (the black people there protesting and being fairly "racist") that doesn't mean that they aren't racist or racist sympathics in themselves, since they are being attacked by the race they'd be racist against... So, yes, this was an example of bad journalism by the liberal press this time, it happens with conservative news as well, but because there is less conservative news there are fewer examples. basically, it could be seen as racist vs racist with a Native American in the middle trying to intervene, Nathan Phillips, is a freaking hero. oh, and I got most of my info from CNN, including them correcting the story, and Twitter actually stepping up and disabling the account that started the whole bad journalism aspect of this story. |
