Title: Taxes Post by T And T Garage on 02/11/19 at 05:48:37 So, I just got my taxes back... guess what? Less than half the return I got last year. NBD - the less the return, the more money you have throughout the year. However, in my case, absolutely nothing had changed from the prior year. So I have to ask - where's all this trump "winning"? Where's my "huge" tax break that he promised? How did that trillion dollar plus tax cut help anyone else but the top 10%? Again, how the hell can any of you trump supporters still follow that idiot? You must all really be that gullible. I saw a very appropriate meme over the weekend. "trump supporters are either billionaires or idiots. Check your bank account to see which one you are." |

Title: Re: Taxes Post by Eegore on 02/11/19 at 06:19:39 I had brought this up back when the tax changes occurred. I recommended people look into their bracket and structure as the changes, which happened immediately, will typically impact middle-class income negatively. Some people will have to file quarterly among other changes. An Obama Administration change gave people a three year preparation period, again... three years to prepare, and people still blamed Obama for a tax alteration that they, or their tax person, ignored for three years. This current change gave people less than a year, and had more direct effect. I imagine this one will be Hillary's fault. Along these lines there is legal limitations to the IRS advertising that you can have your taxes prepared for free. H&R Block and TurboTax are the primary corporations seeing this through for obvious reasons, but just in case information can be found here: https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free |
