Title: God has told him to...
Post by Serowbot on 05/26/19 at 09:09:36

Florida state Representative says God has told him to rewrite abortion bill with no exceptions
https://news.yahoo.com/florida-state-representative-says-god-222659087.html

When you start legislating based on voices in your head,.. it's time to impeach or resign.
Talking to God is one thing,.. God talking back is another.
America is not a theocracy,...
Founders came here to get away from that.

Bot, why can't I recall you ever condemning any other religion other than Christianity?  Really, why so much discontent for that group?

Also, their is plenty of separation in that circumstance.   Because no proper relationship exists between an organized religion and the state.

Best regards,

Muslim's blowing up buildings... is bad.

I harp on Christianity the most because it is the majority in the US, and it most affects policy.
Rationality and faith are not compatible,.. by definition.

It really should be obvious, and I believe it is.

Now there's a line that requires a debate. Let's begin.

First point; the vast majority of all humans who have ever lived have expressed a belief in the super natural.

And you can admit THAT
And
Demand America bow to the demands of the fraction of a percentage who deny the science of DNA, while calling people who are not willing to accept the whole Global Warming is because of human activity thing, science deniers.
Harp on
Democracy
And demand Christians perform for people in ways that ask them to betray their own conscience..
You can't even grasp how twisted your thinking is.

We, by nature, attribute things we don't understand to the super natural, but today we understand a lot more than we used to.
When we have questions today, we look to science, not the super natural.
God did it, just don't cut it anymore.
My bike doesn't run on miracles,.. it runs on gas.

If my dog dies, he doesn't go to doggy heaven,... we tell children that to make them feel better.
Aren't we a little more sophisticated than children?

Aren't we a little more sophisticated than children?

The bible tells of many times Jesus told adults to be like children, etc....

You example the answer.

We become more than what we really are.

Elitist, they are a perfect example of this mentality brought to fruition.

Also, like White Supremacy, etc.....they all share the same self appointment, of self.

So one of the greatest country of the world has a Christian  background

Bot, study North Korea, Stalinist Russia, or Mao's China there you will find the natural outcome of a free thinkers society.

"And demand Christians perform for people in ways that ask them to betray their own conscience.."

 What demands?

I am unaware of anyone forcing Christians to perform abortion procedures.

I do recall Hobby Lobby winning their lawsuit.

Clinically illegal and taking part are two different things.

Do you believe your beloved Barrack Obama is as foolish as a little child? There's no difference in Obama and this politician you posted about.

From Obama: He continued, "I think also understanding that ... Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility that we all have to have as human beings – that we're sinful and we're flawed and we make mistakes; we achieve salvation through the grace of God."

So your hero, Obama, believes that by pledging faith in The Son of God, The Christ, The Lamb of God, his sins will be borne by him and allow Barrack to stand in front of The God of the Universe Holy and blameless.

Millions of the most sophisticated people in the world today have faith including the world's top minds in all fields of study. Faith and science are not mutually exclusive. And we've advanced far beyond the need for The God of Rain to explain the water cycle. But you like to point out those people as a means to smear all the others with faith. And pointing out a right wing politician is particularly reaching into the bottom of the barrel, as they'll pander to anyone. Him using Christianity to advance his cause is no worse than that loser Max Cleland using his "war injury" (he accidentally blew himself up with a grenade, drunk?) to get elected. People and politicians use whatever is within reach to mobe forward, even if its unethical. This is not a domain that's exclusive to Christianity.

And most all of those were poorly educated.  They also believed the Earth was flat and at the center of the universe.

You can be a devout Christian and still know, study and understand science.  You can be an effective politician and still be a Christian - but it's obvious what this politician is doing.  Like so many other republicans, he's using the fear of God to justify his point.

I myself have said that Obama is a far better Christian than trump could ever be - however, he never invoked Jesus as his advisor.

There's nothing wrong with being Christian or Muslim or whatever - but when a politician does something like this, it's got to be called out (just like Max Cleland using his "war injury")

That's a silly statement.  The same thing could be said about conscientious objectors to the military.

"I won't pay any taxes, because the majority is spent on the military".

C'mon....

"Paying someone to so something, is not the same as doing it yourself."

 Followed with:

"Yet, Forcing someone to PAY, for a Abortion,
even though they actually do not do the job,
is in essence:
"forcing Christians, (or any people that believe abortion is KILLING) to perform abortion procedures
"

Using the phrase "in essence" does not mitigate the direct contradiction of those two statements.

I agree that tax dollars given to abortion clinics is something people should have input on and be able to keep from happening for exclusively their own taxes.  Not mine.  Not for every American, which is what people are trying to do.

But to say that paying taxes equal "in essence" to conducting an abortion is inaccurate.  That's no different than saying that knowing abortions will still happen, just in non-clinical locations, is equal to murder if the mother dies.

Christians are not forced to physically conduct or otherwise physically engage in abortions.

Do you believe the study of despotic regimes can make you believe in God?... or do you believe Christians can't be despots?...

Isn't it ironic that Trump's closest allies are Putin, Kim Jong, along with the Saudi and Yemen leaders?...

Do I have to say that I think despots are bad, otherwise you'll believe I like them, or am ignorant of them?...
You know I think Trump is bad... he would love Stalin, and Mao... Look at the company he keeps now.
Cut me some slack, dude... ;D

Correct.
They are just forced to pay,
to have someone else kill a baby.
