Just painted the stock front fender and am ready to mount it to the forks. How can I tell which way points to the front ? I notice that two of the fender holes are round and two seem oval . It looks ok either way but I hope the bad part of my paint job will be facing the rear.

Look at the underside of the fender near the ends. You will see a patch spot welded at one end, that is the rear of the fender.

The fender is not symmetrical. The back is longer than the front.
