Title: Suzuki Intruder forum? Post by Pswartz on 07/02/19 at 10:36:41 Hey All, I found a craigslist steal ... a 2000 Suzuki Intruder 1400 and was wondering if anyone might know of a Intruder forum like what we have here at suzukisavage? It hasn't been started in 2 years and needs a few mechanical items (kickstand, left mirror mount, battery, etc). That is before I crank it and find out what else it might need. Many thanks! Patrick |

Found it --- http://www.intruders-alert.com --- apparently the original forum had ISP issues and had to be restarted with a new URL. |

LOL ... not sure yet... I need to make room in my garage before I start the disassembly and inspection. |

Title: Re: Suzuki Intruder forum? Post by Fast 650 on 07/03/19 at 20:02:40 Those are not fun to work on, I hope you don't have to mess with the carbs. The air filters are buried behind the bodywork, and the carbs are hard to get at and are tricky to synchronize. One is down draft and the other is side draft. They are also jetted dangerously lean stock, so unless the PO rejetted for that aftermarket exhaust already it will need a jet kit. |
Title: Re: Suzuki Intruder forum? Post by Pswartz on 07/10/19 at 07:44:18 Well ... apparently http://www.intruders-alert.com is dead too... the page works, but no one home to respond to new member request. This forum has me spoiled ;) |
Title: Re: Suzuki Intruder forum? Post by DesertCat on 07/11/19 at 08:43:50 I was amazed to find out that some of the Intruders (maybe all) have a fuel pump. They aren't fuel-injected so why the need? BTW, I had a 2001 Intruder 1400 for a while -- it was a very nice bike. |

That Intruder forum used to be very good, with tons of members -- but that was back in 2002 or 2003. What happened? |
Title: Re: Suzuki Intruder forum? Post by WunGun on 07/11/19 at 11:39:45 This is indeed the best forum I've ever used. Id be lying if i said this forum isn't also an incentive to keep me from selling my savage. |

[/quote] -------------------------- Looking at the intruder, it's understandable that those forums are dead. ;) ;) http://suzukisavage.com/yabb2.2/Attachments/2000_Suzuki_Intruder_1400.jpg |

One of the reasons this forum is so active is that the bike lends itself well to customizing. So you have a lot more owners than just the ones who like it in ist's stock form. The LS can be many things. :) |
