Title: gas tank bolts?
Post by S40dummy on 10/04/19 at 07:44:06

does anyone know the 10mm size bolts for the tank and seat bracket size? im having a hell of a time with this bike. Got everything running good then blew a fuse and now I get no spark to the plug... ordered a new coil waiting on that but any suggestions would help. and still looking for a new wiring harness (or used)

You aren't going to find a "new" 86 harness.
Best you'll find is a lightly used one.

I'm working on a bike with a '80's harness now, might be a '86
The connectors are different than late models, I guess they ran out of connectors in the plug, 2 extra wires with bullet points.  I don't remember that on the '88.

You should use a volt/ohm meter to check out your system (coil, battery ,etc.)  If the battery voltage falls below about 10 volts when you hit the starter and the bike is cranking over,  you won't produce a spark at the plug (be sure your battery is fully charged).
