Self-proclaimed socialist Kshama Sawant, an incumbent from the city's 3rd District, trailed her more moderate challenger Egan Orion by about eight points as of Wednesday morning.

Gang, she is AOC's sister, however, uglier......
She is root cause for many of Seattle's problems.

Her spew: "This year, corporate PACs are unleashing a record-breaking corporate onslaught against Councilmember Kshama Sawant. Wealthy Republicans, notorious real-estate developers, and dozens of top Amazon executives are bankrolling her opponent," Sawant wrote on her site, referencing her rival Egan Orion. "What's at stake this year is who runs Seattle — Amazon and big business or working people.

I thought those who were employed, by Amazon.....were WORKING PEOPLE, what did I miss?

Only George Soros, and other liberal businesses are allowed to contribute monies to campaigns....???? :-/

Big names like presidential candidates Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren criticized Amazon for getting involved in the race.

OH....never-mind, I have been informed now ;D ;D

More woking: Another socialist candidate is faring even worse than Sawant. Democratic socialist Shaun Scott trailed Alex Pedersen by roughly 16 points for an open seat as of Wednesday morning.

Folks, this city is the blueprint, of what the leftist want to do to America....
Look at the demographics in this city. Wasn't too long ago a SUV was fair game to be damaged, if driven in the city....
This council members war with the police, as authoritarian, neglecting their own behavior, as such.

I bet AOC is worried over this outcome.....how can she not?
Folks are choosing jobs and economy, over ideology.

Who knows, maybe I will once again include trips back into that beautiful city again, with my visiting guest on vacation.... :)

You seem to have conflated donations and the interests of a business owner with those of employees. Your question isn't posed in good faith; given the many precedents of business sway over government being at odds with the interest of workers, you should have a conceptual understanding of the circumstance, regardless of where your ideological support is placed. If you managed to somehow survive into adulthood without familiarity with the conditions that brought about the unions, you might start your education with how the OSHA came about.

That's your synthesis, not suggested by the possible quote you proffered. My understanding is that intentionally broken campaign finance laws have empowered non-local actors to overwhelm local politics, and seems the clear regard of the statement.
