Washer set on warm ,gentle cycle ,two cups of white vinegar , hang until fully dry , use  vaseline  /petroleum jelly and a cotton rag to rub into seams and all the leather surfaces . my 25+ yr old jackets look like new , shed water,  and the sown in liners smell fresh and clean .

My jacket is only about 7 years old and is worn almost exclusively in cold weather. Does not stink.....yet!

Ditto to Springman, but I clean and treat all of my leather goods with Lexol. It is an automobile product. Really soiled and dry items can use the cleaner first. I usually only use the conditioner with great results. Non greasy once it dries and you buff off any excess.
