Title: Justin, how is the healing going?
Post by Oldfeller on 03/02/20 at 23:30:55

I was reading the list late tonight and I simply thought about you ......    Justin, how is the post wreck healing going?

In the same vein, Lancer --- how are you doing?

MM, last I saw you were kinda like Lancer last time I actually saw him, keeping up but not always having a good time doing it.    How are you feeling?

Dave, ditto for you and your wife, how are you guys getting along?

My last bike (2002 LS650) is up for sale this spring, does anybody here on list want to buy it or my cam chains, bits and pieces & spare parts collection ????

Otherwise, it goes to the locals for yard sale prices.

The rotator cuff is damaged, but I just don't think I can do that surgery. My other shoulder was also injured, both of them hang up and thump sometimes. The surgery recovery on the left shoulder was really rough, so I think I'm just gonna live with the right shoulder. The rest of me is pretty clapped out anyway.
Gonna be a lucky SunnuvaBITCH who gets to do that autopsy.

Someone will be scratching their head

Wondering

Good grief,, how did this old fart get so beat up?

Thanks for asking..

Just because we get beat up or old is no reason to discount the older riders among us.    We accepted all of you as you were (all puppy young and silly frisky) so don't be discounting us now.

Running just from memory here, so I will leave stuff out due to not thinking of it.

25,000 mile LS650 that just needs a battery to run.

two super duty cam chains

A spare first over jug, spare standard sized piston

oil filters

air filter

Misc small repair pieces

A set of mirrors and turn signal lights (some parts missing from use, but mostly there)

A spare darksider tire (new)

If interested, make me an offer for the lot of it and bring up a trailer.

BTW, I live in Fayetteville NC not Charlotte

e-poof-funny

That's what ya call it when a new understanding floods the heart , soul and mind, and the C.P.U. goes
Poof, and the smoke gets out.

O/F, I am still moving.  Not fast or quick, but one step at a time.
I've been on the once a month shot for migraines; 6 months so far, and improvement is gradual but  is helping.  There is a higher dose available and I am going to ask my neurologist to go to the higher dose, so hopefully it is more effective.  I see him today actually.

Other issues are under control for now.
Prayer is essential.

God is good.

When I got a colonoscopy last year, they put me under general anesthesia and when I came out I was still loopy and I asked the nurse, "if I find a watch or a wedding ring in there when I get home do I get to keep it or do I have to give it back to you?"

She smiled, but in her head I am sure she was thinking...I've heard that a thousand times.

I got asked "how much" and in what condition so I made someone a "steal price" considering all the extra stuff I am moving out of the garage with the bike.

As far as condition goes, it needs a battery and fresh gas to become a full runner again.

MM and Dave know the bike, ask them for reference.

After injuries or surgeries be sure to follow up with 500mg to 1000mg of vitamin C daily , it promotes cell growth. Hope all you old farts heal well. I just got over a shoulder issue. I was shocked how painful it was.
Only Stewy would wear a brown watch but wait it matches his ring !

I am doing well physically.....no aches, pains, hurts or disfunctions that I am aware of.  I started going back to the gym each morning so I can keep the 600+ pound motorcycle plus passenger plus luggage upright for as long as possible - that way Deb and I can go on overnight trips when the time and weather allows.  When I was 56 I was a gym rat and I was in the best physical shape of my life - but I got burned out on it and now 8 years later at 64 I am just a bit less conditioned.

Deb is still in the recovery process from her dive injury.  She has neuropathy from the waist down and she has little feeling - it is slowly getting better and they expect she will recover to0 95%......it may take a couple more years.  She can walk around enough to function somewhat normally - she can do some hiking as long as the trails are not difficult.

I plan on making a monthly trips down to TN/NC/GA that begins as soon as the weather breaks.  The trips will likely start on a Wed/Thur and last for 2-3 days if the weather permits.  Anyone is welcome to meet me there - but there will not be a lot of advanced planning.  If the weather forecast looks promising - I will go.  I don't want to go when the chances of rain are high....good weather riding is much more fun.

Oldfeller - I am sorry your riding days are over.  Unfortunately we all go through those life changes, and have to adapt.  The good news is that we "did" get to do some fun things when we were healthy and have good memories.

Pushing weight,, all I feel is the burn..
But, riding a ten speed is enough fun to distract from the burn..
Lifestyle fitness,,

Hey, sorry my friend, The $$$ you quoted me is more than the 2 most expensive savages I have bought of the 7. And its more miles than all of the 7 put together (admittedly one was supposed to be 10K - but had a busted cable showing 9K+)
Yea yea you got parts - but I have not needed most of those, and I have sourced the 1 part I need, and the other part 1 want as of now for a lot less.
I respectfully took the blame - saying I don't have transport for 200 miles between you and me. Sadly you don't seem to return that favor. Adios my friend.

Cool.
Srinath.

Yep, I understand.    Blue book for my 2002 bike is $1,750 so I thought $750 was a good "friendly insider" dicker starting price as you can sell the cam chains and the new tire for over $150 right off the top.   Plus, a running bare engine by itself sells for around $500.    Eh, I missed.

But then again, I have mis-priced stuff before.   No insult intended on my part, just trying to find the right price range to move the bike this spring.   Sounds like that needs to be somewhat lower.

Sounds like I need to go buy a battery and simply get the old girl up and 100% running again ......   Keep it simple and jest move the bike --- the trash man can take off the spare parts and stuff (keeping the weight of the can down to something reasonable of course).

I have a spare engine or 2 sitting around too actually, all of those are 86-87's though.
I dunno man, I still need a workshop built, I am sick of seeing this and 2 other bikes just disintegrate in the sun of SC, and I am figuring out how to get it back together.
I am not interested in selling parts though, I have it, I'll use it if needed, I made my own verslavy - 1/2 of it in 2004 and the other 1/2 after seeing the verslavy. I've been fabbing and modding stuff a long time, takes a lot to impress me.

I am getting my son on a savage I bought Oct 2019 off a forum-er not too far from us, so I have a healthy respect for the bike.

TBH, lets take it to PM, I don't want to discuss this here.

Cool.
Srinath.

Method to the madness, if I am not in tune with current pricing (and I am apparently not) this allows me to wag the dog into the right ranges.
