Clutch side mirror stem threads are buggered and the mirror won't tighten. I'm planning on replacing the clutch lever perch (part 57500-24B01) since it's actually cheaper than buying a Time-sert or Helicoil kit. I hope to ride the rest of the week since the weather is holding strong until the part arrives. Need a short term solution to keep the mirror tight and I'm at work so can't experiment. Will a good bit of Teflon tape be enough to keep it tight? Anything else worked for anyone?

Tig weld. M10 Locking nut. Duct Tape fixes almost everything.

But Teflon tape (PTFE) will not work as it is a natural lubricant.

If you are going to replace the perch anyway, why not install the mirror with a liberal dose of JB Weld. Get it adjusted to the desired orientation before the epoxy sets up, then let it sit overnight to cure. It should hold until you get your new perch.

You can try stuffing a bit of steel wool along the threads...

You could drill and tap a set screw hole into the stem perch.

Thanks for that link verslagen. I've never seen those. Since my mirrors come off about twice per year to install/uninstall my hand guards, I knew a Helicoil wouldn't be a long-term solution. Those solid wall E-Z Lok's gave me threads better than the factory aluminum. A five pack was less than $14 and I picked up a nice Milwaukee 31/64 drill bit at Ace for around $10. Better than new, now.
