Title: Locked out Post by MMRanch on 11/15/21 at 21:10:38 I hope this helps somebody else too. So I was "Forbidden" from this site for months . I'd go up to the library and could log on from there so It had something to do with my IP-Address . my other devices wouldn't log on from the home IP address either ??? Well , when going to the library I would use either my tablet or my Chromebook. Instead of lugging the 15" laptop around. A few days ago my computer wanted to up-date before it closed so I let it and the next morning ... I couldn't log on to my favorite site again ! :( I was trying everything I could think of and looking for HELP everywhere I could think of too ! Just a few minutes ago , I selected to change my browser from Chrome to the Avast Secure Browser , and guess what ! :) :) :) :) My main protection is the complete AVAST package ($99.oo/year ) for up to 5 devices., and the secure browser comes with it. Hallelujah and Amen both !!! ;) Just now I tried to log-on to the Savage site from my Chromebook and it is still "FORBIDDEN" So It is Chrome that is behind the "FORBIDDEN" stuff. So Can a Chromebook operate on another Browser other than Chrome ? :-? Dave , is your office browser on Chrome ? |
Title: Re: Locked out Post by Eegore on 11/16/21 at 06:56:55 Is Avast using a VPN maybe? Virtual Private Network. |
Title: Re: Locked out Post by ohiomoto on 11/16/21 at 16:18:41 There is a thread that covers this. I linked it in a different post for you, but you must have missed it. http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1451676907/0#11 |
Title: Re: Locked out Post by twhitus on 11/21/21 at 16:04:26 if your ip address is being blocked its because its on a blacklist. this is why the avast secure browser is working because it does use a vpn. as long as you do not have a "static" ip address "you usually have to request this" you just need to get your modem for your home to cycle ip address's. this can usually be done by unplugging them overnight or when your at work for a extended period of time. the isp will usually just auto assign ip address's as they come online so when you re-power your modem it should get a new ip address if your old one was taken. source: i used to be a lvl2 tech for a isp, sometimes you can contact the hosting company about getting your ip address removed from a blacklist with mixed results. https://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-removal is a good place to start as it covers some of the major blacklist databases. |
