Title: So much has changed, Post by justin_o_guy2 on 07/30/22 at 12:10:19 I Thought it might be interesting to see how electric bills have been affected in different areas of the country. Our electric bill came in last week, so it's not goin to be sky high because of the triple digit heat we've been having lately. It's right in there with last year, ballpark, best of my memory. We have window units, two in the living room that has no dividing wall for the kitchen, one bigger than the other, easy days, just the small one, buttcrack melting days, run all two of them. Each bedroom has one. So we don't cool the whole house. We owe $150.00 and change. The next one? Probably going to be pushing two hundred. We've been getting triple digits and nothing under 90 generally for what seems like the last Coupla weeks. We hit 105 once. About five years ago we didn't even have a Spring. Went from winter right on into Summer. Fires were a daily thing, with helicopters dropping water on them. It's not like that this year.Yet. |

Title: Re: So much has changed, Post by justin_o_guy2 on 07/30/22 at 16:46:34 We have propane heat. Just a little heater I hung on the wall. Winter electric bill can be about $80.00. I'm sure the summer heat makes the Man Cave dormitory sized fridge and the freezer that is not in the climate controlled part of the house must surely struggle to maintain that -4degrees. You don't even pay, your solar setup covers it? You could have a thread on that, I Would be reading it. |
Title: Re: So much has changed, Post by Fabricio Bino on 08/04/22 at 09:40:21 I am thinking on setting up a solar system to power some devices in my home. I don't think I'll buy any batteries, just paying back the energy consumed from the grid. |
