Title: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by MMRanch on 12/11/22 at 20:38:04 I was just browsing for a winter project and found this that caught my eye . Its too far away for me but ... its fair game if someone else wants a project . https://www.ebay.com/itm/155300773532?hash=item2428a5be9c:g:evoAAOSwwzRjk2pL&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoDdGiYXduH6l2bZEm08kLhiYp91T5%2BJrF1207N9EuoSiXFLBVaFKjeulU4Y9HDMMxQApEDEtbr8KAf5MVV5cIDfKyRQIXKHZv1tY%2FkvlBmHsFHY%2Fsv1xOIpmSccLYU3V5Hc3LbXVNy5mYqzhsXpWaCe76I1oR22REOCOrx%2BNCFcGgBo0nkTk0bN9wtdV4Icyw9MOojTCIayxgaurswXMXzQ%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR9jeyMmgYQ |

Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by justin_o_guy2 on 12/11/22 at 22:06:50 One of my favorite paint schemes. Yeah, eight hundred dollars is not going to buy that I betchya. It's been ridden less than a mile a day. |

Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by MMRanch on 12/13/22 at 07:33:45 Guys , There a right time to sell a bike and I don't thing this is it ??? :-? Right now I'm pooling all my $$$ together with my son and wife to get son a house built. But , there sure seems to be a deal here for some forward thinking person ! :) |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by MMRanch on 12/13/22 at 13:53:31 I betcha that's not the reserve price. ................................ OK , Closest guess ( + or - ) Let's bet who buys a round of "Hamburgers" next time we have an outing ! ::) I'll go first ... "I believe ... it will sell for $1,050.00" |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by verslagen1 on 12/13/22 at 14:54:38 What I referred to is the reserve price... the price that if no one bids over no one wins. You have to remember that this is Kalifornia, and you can ride year around. Nobody winterizes their bike. KBB has it at $3600 I think the reserve price is about $2200 depending on how fast the seller wants to get rid of it. |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by MMRanch on 12/13/22 at 15:55:11 Hay Mike , I didn't see nothing about "Reserve" in the add ??? So ... you think it will be $2,200 ? :-? I'm still looking for a FREE Hamburger ! :P |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by pg on 12/13/22 at 16:03:31 Did you scroll down? Mechanically, the engine has internal issues, the mechanic states it "rattles" when revved up, (see video) and also smokes much more than it should. Video link of engine starting https://youtube.com/shorts/bnUgvNPLygQ?feature=share Best regards, |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by MMRanch on 12/13/22 at 16:33:52 So , would a new cam chain and tensioner fix it ? OK 1. A new piston and rings 2. Cam and tensioner 3. I like the "Form-a-gasket" for everything but not Head Gasket. When warm weather gets here , I'd think that bike would be an easy $2,200. :) |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by verslagen1 on 12/13/22 at 16:44:11 Nope, I didn't. I had no plans to bid. sure sounds like an adjuster. |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by TheSneeze on 12/13/22 at 21:34:23 A day's drive for me. But I really don't have room for a third! |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by MMRanch on 12/14/22 at 09:54:24 Hay ! :) I guessed it with in $15.00 !! but nobody was in on the "Round of Hamburgers" bet ... that's the story of my life ! :-[ .......................... Somebody ( 1***5 ) got a nice project ! :) |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by verslagen1 on 12/14/22 at 11:32:48 Don't worry, when we meet up again, I'll buy you a burger. ;) |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by MMRanch on 12/14/22 at 15:54:43 Versey Was that you that jumped in on the bidding at the last minute ? :-? ................... I've got one of those "Super-Chains" that Lancer got for us a few years ago. That bike had 50,000 miles on it and the chain adjuster was still on the second click of the second hole. It had basically quit moving after I replaced that "Heavy" spring with a "Mild" one. So , I never used the new chain I was holding back. Let me know if anyone needs it and I'll try to hunt it up. I've got some exaust gaskets I might find while looking. |

Nope, still not interested. Hey! gas just went down to $3.89, might be cheap enough to go somewhere now. |
Title: Re: How cheep is cheep enough ? Post by MMRanch on 12/14/22 at 18:24:45 Have ya thought about where to go yet ? It would be Great to find another place like the Kerrville park to run day rides out of . If ya come across a similar place we can try it out next year. I'll look too ! :) ............. I've got a mental picture of Los Angles being , "not a safe place to leave your bike parked outside" at night. How far off has my imagination carried me from reality do ya think ? |
