It's not a question, but I picked up some cheap valve stem lights as an experiment. Like these:

They significantly increased my visibility, and a bus got out of my way.

I know they are supposed to be 'pretty', but I like how I show up so much more.

For the price I am pleased with them.

Ha! Those are cool! And you have an extra pair for later!

If you could get a red one for the front and a blue one for the rear and ride real fast, you’d look like a motorcycle cop with his light on! Beep, beep!! :o :D :o

I have often thought about them, they really do make a visual impact from the side. I use bicycle handle bar lights mounted on my crash bar in front, the ones with clear lenses. I put a second set, one on each of the rear turn signals. These I take the clear lens and color them blue with a Sharpie marker. The fronts light the road between the frame and forks. The rear I turn in so they light the side of bike in the rear. They use the flat batteries and you get about 6 hours of ride time before you need to replace the batteries. They are completely weatherproof and are pretty inexpensive.
