Title: Why vote for Trump? Post by WebsterMark on 09/22/24 at 04:29:54 A Trump Presidency won’t negatively impact my or my immediate family’s life in any way I can think of. His time in office before Covid was positive for me. Harris is an unknown in many respects but if I assume she manages to move forward with some of her policies, I can’t see any benefits, not negatives. The concept of an “opportunity economy” and her comments about equity and equality sounds like quality of performance and products take a back seat to whatever definition of diversity she imagines. And free speech will absolutely get trashed. There’s a long list but I’m heading to the airport for a work trip so more later, think about it. How will your life be personally impacted by the policies of the winner? |
Title: Re: Why vote for Trump? Post by zevenenergie on 09/22/24 at 05:36:14 I think that if Trump becomes president he will do everything in his power to put things in order in Ukraine and the Middle East. That would mean that inflation will decrease worldwide and trade relations will be strengthened again. We no longer buy gas from Russia, and instead we now buy liquid gas from America. (That was forced upon us by the US.)So America will have to loosen its iron grip on the Netherlands. I think that under Harris that will not happen and that they will push the world more into war. I am a fan of free trade improvement. |
Title: Re: Why vote for Trump? Post by ThumperPaul on 09/22/24 at 06:34:27 Let’s think about this… 1) The national debt increased by 8 trillion under Trump. The most by any president. He now promises to eliminate the debt. Enjoy that kool-aid. 2) Trump tariffs on China started a global trade war and those higher tariffs got passed along to consumers in the form of higher prices and inflation. But he’s going to stop inflation if elected. Enjoy that kool-aid. 3) If he can end the Ukraine/Russia war on Day 1, enjoy that kool-aid too. Why doesn’t he pick up the phone and do it now? 4) Drill baby drill. I’m fine with this. I live in Texas. But nobody beats OPEC at the price/production war game. Easing tension in Israel and the Middle East would be a good thing, but there’s nothing to suggest it would impact OPEC and fossil fuel pricing and production in a meaningful way. I don’t like Harris, but Trump’s plan is hollow words and pandering. And I’m still waiting for Mexico to pay for the Wall. |

Title: Re: Why vote for Trump? Post by JOG on 09/22/24 at 08:21:28 I'm not sure, but I Think there are laws against citizens engaging in foreign policy work. And unless Trump is president, he has no authority to get anyone here to Do anything and the people in NATO don't care what he says. Now, about people Telling us what they are Gonna do, and asking WhynaFukk dontchya just Get on with it today?? Harris is in a position to accomplish some things. |
Title: Re: Why vote for Trump? Post by Serowbot on 09/22/24 at 08:32:14 20% tariff on all imports will affect you Killing Obamacare will affect you or someone you care about Handing over Ukraine to Putin will affect the world Adding another 8 trillion to the deficit to give to rich billionaires will affect you, your children and grandchildren ... but you'll be safe from sharks in your gas powered boat |
Title: Re: Why vote for Trump? Post by ThumperPaul on 09/22/24 at 10:10:21 I’m still undecided. But the Trumpers in this daily rant have the most pitiful tired arguments with very little substance. I’m about to bow out of these conversations again. It’s just not worth my breath. Provide some good reasons to vote for him based on facts and information that is valid and not just blind biased opinions. I was absolutely not impressed with Trump’s term as President. Why would I want to go through more of the same… 8 trillion deeper in debt (doesn’t act a bit like a fiscally conservative Republican). Tariffs that drove inflation and trade wars. Tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations when they didn’t need it. A wall that was a failure and wasn’t paid for by Mexico A revolving door in his administration anytime someone didn’t agree with him 100% (no one could build on his plans and contribute) His friendliness with Russia and North Korea can’t be ignored There’s more, but I’ll stop there. Harris’s plans don’t impress me either, but I don’t have this irrational fear that she’s going to turn the USA into a socialist communist county in 4-8 years. And neither side is really against keeping the war machine fed. It’s good for the economy. I am very much in favor of stopping Russia from advancing across Europe even if that means the war continues longer. They both suck. I have about 5 weeks longer to decide who sucks less. |

Title: Re: Why vote for Trump? Post by ThumperPaul on 09/23/24 at 05:23:35 I’m out. No point in discussing things with people that know everything and have an excuse for why negative facts about the Trump term are what they are. And then makes accusations that I hate someone. Just because I disagreed with his policies and positions as President doesn’t mean I hate him. My experience with this is that people that accuse others of hate are usually full of hate themselves and project that onto others as their weak defense. That said, people that actually like and support him often share his same personality defects. What they usually won’t admit or say out loud is that they are voting for Trump to make America Great Again (white, racist, sexist, brash, dominating, me-culture, nationalists (not patriots)). Maybe the new slogan should be “MAHA” (Make America Hate Again). |
