Title: A good jacket is next,,,
Post by JOG on 09/27/24 at 13:09:33

I like riding when it's wet,,not "Wipers at full speed and still can't see twenty feet" wet, but I've been known to find a reason to get out during a gentle Spring rain. I don't like being wet, certainly not cold, and I'm just not wearing the Fashionable Black. I want to be seen, warm and dry. Not saying money is no object, but a few hundred dollars is doable.
Does anyone have a jacket that they are really happy with?
Don't run over me stuff can be added, I guess..

I have always bought "affordable" riding gear.  Stuff from Icon, REvit, Joe Rocket,

Last year I saw a Klim jacket on the local Craigslist for $100 that was a $400 jacket when new.....when I went and tried it on it fit perfect and I bought it.

The jacket is completely waterproof - no need to put on a rain jacket - it even has a pocket that keeps your cell phone dry.  There are vents in both sleeves, both sides down near the pockets, and the rear has a vent across your back.  The center zipper has a folded fabric seal and a velcro closing flap to keep water out - and all the zippers on the pockets and vents have rubber seals to keep water out.  The neck has a nice soft lining on the collar and a draw string that can adjust the fit.  It is not a hot weather jacket - it is good up to the high 70's if you keep moving and have airflow - it is warm down into the high 50's with a long sleeve cotton shirt underneath - high 40's with a good sweatshirt or my electric vest underneath.

The quality of the jacket is far superior to any jacket I have ever owned.  I likely would have not bought this jacket new as I am a bit cheap- but Klim sure does make an excellent product!.
