Simple... if you refuse to Observe that you were lied to about something you can continue to declare it true. When proven false just redirect and say the "POINT is" and pretend the information provided, as evidence, "doesn't matter".

Rinse, repeat.

In respect to the POINT of this thread, yeah I imagine Zuckerberg, after being caught, would say he regrets doing anything the Government asked him to do in secret. Given the pure garbage people think is true, or let's face it, pretend they think is true in many cases so they can justify stupid behavior, I would be ok with reducing the amount of lies on my business service too. I just don't think the government is the resource to tell me what should be on there.

But yeah, if I were copy-pasting any headline I thought could be true, declaring it fact, then ignoring anything proven false, I would expect negative consequences eventually.

I'd just like to know in what reality changing the name of Twitter to X and Facebook to Meta was a good idea

Elon should rename Tesla to Fireball

Maybe Kleenex should change it's name to Booger X :P

The problem is humans continually treat private companies property as material covered under the 1st Amendment. Nobody has a 1st Amendment right to use X, or Facebook etc. None of those companies have an obligation to protect your 1st Amendment rights.

So expecting anything to be protected on private property is the primary problem. If someone tells me a private newspaper company decided to only print in their paper what the Government approved, by their own actions alone, I would have literally no complaints about the 1st Amendment in that situation.

People have the right Bark, but the wrong Tree.

Nobody except You said that. Typical over-reaction. I never said anything close to "Nothing" in relation to "Protected" or "can be" specific to "Private Property" I said "anything" specific to a discussion about 1st Amendment rights and the expectation of that right being protected on private property.

Your 1st Amendment rights are not protected on Facebook or X or any other company's property. Facebook has no obligation to protect your 1st Amendment rights.

Facebook has no responsibility to protect your 1st Amendment rights. If they choose to work with the government to restrict the content on their property they let you use, there is no 1st Amendment violation by Facebook.

Zuckerberg regrets doing it, but nobody is suing him for violating their rights. Out of millions upon millions of users in the US, not one sued. I wonder why that is.
