Title: SOLD…HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94…SOLD Post by ThumperPaul on 11/15/24 at 08:27:47 I have a pristine pair of Dyna mufflers #65747-94 up for sale. These are super nice and in like new condition. If they have 100 miles on them I’d be surprised. They are take-offs from a 2001 Dyna Wide Glide. Prior owner swapped these out for some Screamin’ Eagles shortly after purchase. They’ve been nicely stored away for 22 years. I’ve bought pretty Dyna mufflers like this before, but these are probably the nicest. These have the mounting rail that works extremely well with our bikes. Easy installation. Nice lower richer sound tone than the stock muffler without being overly loud. Improved exhaust flow. You probably want to go up 1-2 jet sizes on the carb, but it’s not critical. I’m asking $45 each plus buyer pays shipping. I use a discount shipping website so maybe $15-$20 for shipping depending on your location. I accept PayPal, Cashapp, or Zelle. PM me if interested. |

Title: Re: HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94 Post by ThumperPaul on 11/15/24 at 08:34:00 Here’s a pic of the Dyna muffler installed on my S40 to give you an idea. I found a 6” HD heat shield on eBay for like $16 (nice finishing touch IMO). |

Title: Re: HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94 Post by TheBabyDerp on 11/26/24 at 11:54:20 Here is the one I got from him. Easy to install. Brake cable did not rub. Only needed one clamp. Did not need reducer or extension. Looks great sounds great. |
Title: Re: HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94 Post by ThumperPaul on 11/26/24 at 12:51:22 Nice! What shocks are those? Length? You like ‘em? Can you compare to stock or were they on the bike when you got it? |
Title: Re: HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94 Post by TheBabyDerp on 11/26/24 at 14:18:13 Hagon Shocks. They are amazing. They absorb a lot more bumps than the stock. Night and day difference. They were about 270 including international shipping from UK to US. Not sure on the length but they are specifically for this bike. Hagon makes this same shock in several different styles including one that is fully covered. I got the simplest style with no covers. |

Cool. SurvivingPhilly has the Hagon shocks as well. He likes 'em too! The customization they do is pretty cool. |

Title: Re: HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94 Post by Alzuki on 12/01/24 at 10:08:51 Hi ThumperPaul! I am a new member and haven't made my way around the site and how to post or PM. Please forgive me if I'm not in the right place. I would like to buy your other Dyna muffler if available. Please advise how to communicate from here. Thanks! |
Title: Re: HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94 Post by ThumperPaul on 12/01/24 at 11:24:49 Welcome. Unfortunately, you have to have 10 posts/comments to send and receive private messages. I really don’t want to put my email address of phone number out here. Maybe just poke around on some other posts and say stuff like “wow”, “nice bike”, “how’d you do that”, etc…. Wish there was a better way. |
Title: Re: HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94 Post by Alzuki on 12/01/24 at 15:51:17 Thanks for the welcome and for the advise. I am normally of the view it is wiser to "lurk before you leap" but I do have many questions and am eager to hear the thoughts of members as I get my new-to-me '02 Savage ready for spring. So I'll go ahead and post some of them tonight, and maybe more tomorrow. I'll be in touch again soon when I can PM you. Thanks again! |
Title: Re: HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94 Post by ThumperPaul on 12/01/24 at 16:27:38 That’s cool. Lots of great info on the forum and don’t be shy posting questions on “rubber side down”. Or just comment 8 more times on this post. Mine Mine Mine Mine …. …. …. …. ;D ;) :o :o :) |
Title: Re: HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94 Post by Alzuki on 12/02/24 at 20:24:59 Well, this is my 10th post. It's been fun making my way around the forums. Spent too much time with the politics and religion. Will have to get back on topic. I'm still interested in your Dyna muffler if you still have it. Maybe now I can go ahead and PM you...tomorrow. |

Deep sound. I previously had a stock muffler with baffle removed. This sounds better and doesn't drone at highway speeds. I ended up buying a little more than I needed to make it work. But here is all I needed: Strong clamp. 1.75 in. Comes with 2 but I only need one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BK5D2LF2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 Harley chrome cover 6 inch long. Part#30-1764. Do not be temped to get cheaper shields. They have inferior chrome and often too long. Get the part number I listed. It installs super easy. One clamp. which is included. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164002551907 And at Lowes, I walked inside with the muffler to find some bolts that would work. 1inch long will do. 1.25 at most. I could not find any t-shaped bolts. I ended up find a carriage bolt that worked perfectly in the muffler. The way the carriage bolt is shaped, it could not rotate on the muffler side. Perfect. My stock rubber on the muffler mount ripped during removal. Oh well. I added rubber washer on each side. I don't notice any vibration. Also, I added some exhaust sealer. May not be necessary. I bought the emgo reducer but did not need it. Who knows... |

Title: Re: SOLD…HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94…SOLD Post by TheBabyDerp on 12/04/24 at 04:22:07 Rejet your carb for sure. I already did mine before I got the muffler. I have a 2012 it's so leaned out from factory. The hardest part about rejetting the carb is removing the carb from the bike and reinstalling the carb. Once the carb was out, it took me 5 minutes to rejet. I highly recommend to get JIS screw drivers. JIS screws are all over this bike including part of the stock muffler heat shield bracket. They look almost identical to philips screws but are slightly different. Using a philips screw driver will dang near instantly strip them. Just depends. I had to drill out 2 jis screws before i got a set. I recommend the $20 vessel set on amazon. They are super high quality and come with all the sizes you need for Japanese built bikes. They feel like they will last a life-time of working on Japanese bikes. https://www.amazon.com/VESSEL-GRIPTM-Screwdriver-JISDRIVE-No-550APH4PBU/dp/B0C2JY39MG/ref=sr_1_1?crid=38I0OONLEOH5L&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Y2OmULXpGB1QvIvwpNlxWLCINwzs0pXLqKb8JZfsVbynEz8pmkAHjuwERyJ8RqkVromGHaI8Jvy1-bULELN24hASIOELPsA7WolWftXlUfxQMeUB0iAyPxltm_InT523fyXOi2cGH7LnQE-JdDfmVpFFT-Ef05lcza0zJwrNiD7Bd2w_n-1hcxqxNFnr0OWq9ZoSF8tb6Ch7bnM4c2C7NytXOLvK_RNUHrBy66gn_1_Gy_dt8qOTsdYxFj4NrRjlX3hXOuXpEboSemGhvtQYQK11LHB0_Yq8Bp8GqRHThyY.-jAcAl9jS5vzFKtGJdrBR_9BFUsvsqD5hu36eOPTAEo&dib_tag=se&keywords=JIS+vessel&qid=1733314693&sprefix=jis+vessel%2Caps%2C118&sr=8-1 |
Title: Re: SOLD…HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94…SOLD Post by blod on 12/04/24 at 04:55:07 My bike is a 2004, does that mean it may not be leaned out from the factory ? I will order the screwdrivers you mention. |
Title: Re: SOLD…HD Dyna Mufflers #65747-94…SOLD Post by TheBabyDerp on 12/04/24 at 06:29:03 Look through the forum on rejetting. I don't know the jet sizes per year I just know the more recent years have leaner jets. I used a stage 1 kit from 6 sigma. I told them my elevation and year and they sent a few jet options. You can go ahead and do the muffler first and see how it runs. It will not hurt it to ride without rejetting. So if it's riding great, then leave it alone. |
