You didn't answer the question.
WHY would he STOP at the border and just Sit there? His army stopped and stayed right there for quite a long time. IIRC, it was over a week. That is a logistics problem. It's expensive to feed all of those people. And a Vicious, War Wanting person STOPS ?

That is what I need to be explained.

Threatened so, since they won't stop backing you in the corner, you smack them in the face.
You understand self defense, right?
And no, he had his army stopped on the border. It was assembled and ready.
He stopped, after demonstrating that he was prepared to go in.
And he was trying to get NATO to stop trying to get Ukraine on board.
China allows North Korea to exist, it's a buffer zone.
Putin, rightly doesn't want a NATO nation on his border.

I think it is much more complicated than you would think at first glance.

The fact that Ukraine is now allowed to use long-range missiles by Biden not only indicates that "they" want to thwart Trump with his peace plans. But also that "they" would wage war in Ukraine until the end of days.
That the opponents are really very bad people is just an excuse.

What is "their" agenda?
And could it be that Putin opposes that agenda with ferocity?

I think there’s some truth to what you say. I understand Biden’s commitment to Ukraine, given that they no doubt funneled a great deal of money to him and his family but I don’t understand the general public’s love affair with Ukraine, other than it’s just strictly a partisan issue.

My point from the beginning, and to be fair I read someone’s commentary on this and I agreed with them, is I’m not sure why we are so invested in Ukraine winning this war. I understand the idea if Russia takes Ukraine, their next step of the NATO country but ok, we’ll deal with it when they attack a NATO country. But now we’ve spent millions of dollars, I’m sorry billions of dollars, on a war with no guarantee can be won, and not even sure what a victory looks like.
