Title: Choke Plunger from DR650 Post by Dave on 12/02/24 at 05:16:23 Does anyone know if the Choke Plunger for a DR650 will work on the LS650 carb? The aftermarket DR650 ones are far cheaper than the factory LS650 ones. https://www.amazon.com/Partscollect-Fits-Suzuki-DR650SE-DR650/dp/B0BCR2X9FR/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1F8P24GJ50B1W&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.cjdQmhCVkgHCsiHeJL3pC7P3kSHCbZl8LAp9r1hPJEscx_acgB4ILPFExmrk4lFah6PP2kuBvw32BQtwxGP9KG4tCaczbNRbSgvBuRuWQazKwXVPNcAsrAm8eyTXN3UhBYYy9UazVADRcpN7x19yDkTnQAVbOFg7n4KpjZgSMSTfHa9B0KjZOL8MBmv56sFf8EMKY7t7WhhAE_DITDVaaByaos4pVItVQb9mzTSF7I4U45QfQqvm55_n0JajqF-oV0CIVMIY_QTwmN4K-7dhMEk2ssOzoPnkQw2pIcAeL54.Cb_F2SUF-S5StKir3R3lum9nDcwAma2-lZhQheVFSsU&dib_tag=se&keywords=ls650+choke&qid=1733145155&sprefix=ls650+choke%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-1 |
Title: Re: Choke Plunger from DR650 Post by Ruttly on 12/02/24 at 06:41:32 Hey Dave , You should try looking up both parts numbers and see if they are the same. Maybe try Suzuki parts monster as I recall. Or one of those big Suzuki distributors. |
Title: Re: Choke Plunger from DR650 Post by Dave on 12/02/24 at 09:27:12 The part number are not the same, and the DR650 factory part doesn't even show you can buy the unit complete....only a few of the parts. However Suzuki doesn't make the carb.....and it is not unusual that a manufacturer like Kehin might make similar parts similar sizes. (Like the way the output shaft size and number of splines on Suzuki and Kawasaki are the same). I am tempted to order one on Amazon and see....I can always send it back if it doesn't fit. |

Title: Re: Choke Plunger from DR650 Post by Dave on 12/03/24 at 04:23:30 I am currently in the worst eBay experience I have ever had. I ordered 2 of the choke pieces that are supposed to work on a 2007 S40. I ordered on November 5th, and on the 6th the seller sent me a message asking me to confirm the fit and the shipping address....I responded immediately confirming both. It took them 4 days to ship the item - I got tracking information. I watched the package move through the USPS system and it appears it started at the Amazon location in Hebron, KY...20 miles from my house. It then proceeded to get farther and farther away - and finally was delivered on November 25th to a Post Office Box in Maynardsville, TN.....190 miles from my house. (It appears the seller is located in China and uses Amazon to sell and deliver things in the USA). I contacted the seller and they blamed USPS for delivering it to the wrong place....however I would believe the seller put the wrong address on the package. They have still not shipped out a replacement - however they claim they are going to do so soon. I will wait until Friday December 6th to request a refund. I filed a complaint with eBay that the package was not received - and their helpful advice was to look around my porch and mailbox as the tracking showed that it was delivered (their initial inquiry did not see that the package was delivered to the wrong address). I can file for a more thorough eBay investigation after today. The seller has a good reputation and claims that 22 of these were sold.....I wonder how many were delivered properly? :-?https://www.ebay.com/itm/174875222345 |
Title: Re: Choke Plunger from DR650 Post by ThumperPaul on 12/03/24 at 05:01:41 That looks like the choke plunger that I suggested someone else try. For $15 and the ability to return, give it a shot. Let us know. We mailed a package via USPS from Houston to our daughter in Detroit. It went to San Francisco first, then Oakland, then Indianapolis, and now it’s bouncing around in various facilities in Detroit. Each destination is taking 2-3 days to play with the hot potato. Getting closer! It’s one of the few things that I’ve actually bought extra insurance for. Glad I did at this point. |

The insurance thing with USPS is a bothersome things for me. I once had a claim and they only covered the cost of the item....not the shipping cost. So if you shipped something worth $100 and it cost $20 to ship it....you will only get $100 back. You are out $20 and the buyer has received nothing. Trying to inflate the price to regain your shipping cost is not easy - as the proof of what the item is worth is generally the documentation of what I sold it for. |

I’m with you. It’s not dishonest if that’s what it takes to be fully indemnified. Call it my ‘value added’ restoration charge if I have to rationalize it. |
Title: Re: Choke Plunger from DR650 Post by ohiomoto on 12/04/24 at 18:43:33 The DR650 uses a remote choke, but ProCycle sells plunger knobs. Maybe they can confirm fitment, https://procycle.us/product/98-choke-knob |
