Title: The Trolley Problem
Post by WebsterMark on 01/29/25 at 03:31:55

A fascinating article below in the link. I wonder if the way people address “the trolley problem” correlates to their view on the deporting violent criminal illegal aliens vs illegal aliens guilty of only being in the country illegally.

Today, MOST of people encountering,

"...You enter a quiet laboratory room. Three people sit silently on chairs, electrodes attached to their wrists. An experimenter turns to you and explains the situation: two of these volunteers will receive a painful electric shock, while a third volunteer will be spared. That is, unless you choose to redirect the electricity to the third person instead. The choice is yours: act to ensure only one person receives the shock, sparing the majority, or do nothing and let two people experience the pain...."

will engage in that' experiment'.

Number of years ago,
Most of the people encountering that situation would SAY they KNOW, it is FAKE electrodes.
And a few will just walk over to the subject and rip off the electrodes.

Not following you on that one. But the point of this is a discussion why half the people at this table see deporting criminal illegal aliens as a no-brainer, while the other half has concerns.

deporting illegals is a no brainer being an illegal makes you a criminal
my only concern is the innocent getting caught up in the racial profiling ICE is using

Not aware of any innocents getting caught up.

What racial profiling? They’re finally getting information as to whereabouts of possible illegal aliens with criminal records. As I saw on a couple of videos, if they’re in a room or a house, for example, like all cops, do they ask for identification for others and if they find out that they’re likewise are either in the country illegally or also have criminal warrants outstanding, they’re busted.

The point of the article about a realistic version of the trolley problem is to be forced to face reality, not just an academic exercise.

I don’t care if a few people get question for their ID because of the way they look. I don’t care. Things have to happen to correct the ridiculousness of the last few years. If those people feel offended, and wanna blame somebody… they can blame Joe Biden and the Democrats.

Ahh, Racial Profiling,, of Course it's Considered Morally Reprehensible..
Because it's so often right.
Yeah, it's WRONG sometimes, too, but Choosing to Avoid confronting someone
Because it Could be Seen as Profile is stupid.

We have gone from denying racial profiling to defending racial profiling

and this is progress?
This makes America great again?
MAGA  :-?
