" Again if you are a US Citizen, you are in the WRONG country. Pick a Socialist/Communist Nation, (more than listed here), I am sure you know all of them. (HOWEVER you will NOT BE ABLE to say all the totally, ‘Dumb AZZ’, things you say) “… Countries which belief in Marxism-Leninism ideologies and those which do not. Currently, there exist only four countries around the globe that are recognized as Marxist-Leninist socialist. These countries are China, Cuba, Laos, and Vietnam. …” China, officially known as the People's Republic of China, … It is the world's second most populous country, boasting a population of more than 1.4 billion. China spans five geographical time zones and shares its borders with 14 countries, making it second only to Russia ... Canada, specifically Ontario, is undeniably under socialist control. Our alcohol is sold only in province-owned stores and distributed to restaurants and bars with heavy regulation and tax, citizens are highly taxed, well beyond what is needed in a country with such a small population. These taxes serve the government's model of wealth redistribution and fund the endless stream of liberal-voting immigrants that keep the left in power.[ch8232]… also home to many government-supported monopolies, with some of the highest costs in the world for TV, internet, and cellular services, among many others. Canada even has its own TV network, the CBC, owned and paid for by the Canadian government, used to dispense its propaganda! The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, … A absolute dictatorship run by the government. The Netherlands, informally Holland, Shorter work hours were their policy to increase employment and social inclusion. If a person works 25 instead of 50 hours a week, there will be 25 hours left for somebody else, and one more person will be employed.[ch8232]This type of thinking was part of their social agreement, and in literature, it's called "social intelligence." Vietnam, officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. (Any Questions ??????) Venezuela, officially the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, The most corrupt on the list. Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, I lived in Norway for 12 years. I left because I was taxed so harshly. As a single guy with no dependents, the vast majority of my earnings went to the state. I paid an income tax close to 40%, a sales tax of 25%, and countless other taxes or hidden fees. There is a T.V. tax of somewhere around 2500kr per year - if you have a T.V., you must pay it. There is a road tax, and there are road tolls. Alcohol is taxed extremely heavily and is mostly only available through government alcohol shops. Vehicles often cost double or more than what you would pay elsewhere because of various vehicle taxesIf you are healthy and motivated, then Norway is a horrible place to live - as you will get no benefit from their "free" healthcare. If you are sick, lazy, or a single parent, then move to Norway. You can continue living off the hard work of others (or a sovereign wealth fund paid for by oil). …” |
Title: Re: "... I'm a full-on socialist, ... Post by Needles on 05/02/25 at 06:02:09 Private insurance is literally healthy people paying into the pot to take care of the sick people, with the added expense of paying millions for administrative costs PLUS tens or hundreds of millions to their executives. Canada is a democracy with a capitalist economy. Capitalists ALWAYS claim any restriction to capitalism is socialism. You want Pure, unregulated capitalism? Somalia has that; so does Iran, thanks to US social engineering. Norway is a monarchy, and a good example of why you do not want a dictator, not even one that appears to align with your own beliefs. China, Cuba, Laos, Vietnam? ALL are either oligarchies or dictatorships, and, guess what? Except for Cuba and Venezuela, they're doing fine economically, and technologically, China is kicking the US's butt. Cuba and Venezuela WOULD be fine, except for the US sanctions put on their trade. BUT, like Nicaragua, they had the audacity to form a socialist economy right in the US's back yard. Capitalists hate socialism for one reason: A socialist country can outperform them in manufacturing and innovation at a price point so low that the capitalist CEOs can't pull 400+ times their worker's salaries and buy their next yacht. Back in the '80s we were told that China was "dumping" products on the world market for less than the cost of manufacturing them. What was really happening was that China was selling things for what they cost, plus a reasonable profit. To compete, capitalist companies will have to take a tiny sliver of the profits they're used to. Tariffs won't fix that discrepancy, BTW. All tariffs do is put even more stress on already stressed consumers. Look at the Harley Davidson debacle in the '80s. The Yamaha Virago came out, and it kicked HD's butt, whether in cost, reliability, or performance. HD hadn't upgraded their basic engine in decades, and they thought they OWNED the v-twin engine design. They got paranoid and bribed Congress (In the US, it's called "lobbying".) to put tariffs on Japanese built motorcycles. After 5 years, HD STILL hadn't upgraded their engines, and they had a slight sales increase, so they bribed some more, and got the tariffs extended for another 5 years. (The HD spin is that they ASKED for the tariffs to be removed--- in actuality, the tariffs were expiring, and would end anyway, so they went on record as asking that they end.) Capitalism is not LESS corrupt. It just hides it better. |

In order to compete, capitalist companies will have to take a small share of the profit they are used to. Tariffs will not solve that discrepancy, by the way. I want to elaborate on this. In my country and also in America, many businesses are going under because China is selling products here for a price that we cannot buy the materials for. A trade tariff is an excellent way to stop this kind of terrorism. Because that is what it is: you can destroy an economy by dumping. It is important for the well-being of many people that China is stopped in its advance towards absolute world domination for a whole range of reasons.. It seems like you find the Chinese model superior, but a social control system like the Chinese have should also deter a socialist, right? |

Let me guess, you’ve never had some level of responsibility for a company’s P&L have you? Never have been in a position where poor decisions cost sales, lowers revenue and ultimately threaten the jobs or at least the hours worked by others? |
Title: Re: "... I'm a full-on socialist, ... Post by Eegore on 05/03/25 at 08:36:38 Another thing to keep in mind in regard to Countries other than China, and this is an opinion by the way, is that China has no regard or reasonable process for protecting intellectual property. This is so well known that even mainstream entertainment business television programs like Shark Tank / Dragon's Den etc. continually indicate the importance of "first to market" before "knock offs" are made. This is nothing more than, in my opinion, them acknowledging that proprietary information has little to no safety in China. That is not Socialism, that is theft. It is theft that hides behind the "socialist country can outperform them in manufacturing and innovation at a price point so low that the capitalist CEOs can't pull 400+ times their worker's salaries and buy their next yacht." philosophy. This is an opinion. The reason China's socialist trade market works is because the US allowed the Postal Union to go unhindered decades too long, rampant and unchecked theft and selling of property, and the absolute control the Government has over the people there. This post is an opinion. |
Title: Re: "... I'm a full-on socialist, ... Post by Needles on 05/04/25 at 15:07:19 Seems like the Republicans want to RULE in the US, rather than represent the People, like the Constitution says. One thing: If it's a government of, by, and for the People, doesn't that make it defacto socialist? |
