First: Night time.

Second: Rusted metal at the density that the border wall is would be just as hot. Rust generally lowers Solar Reflectance (SRI) and corrosion typically reduces a material's ability to reflect solar radiation thus causing it to absorb more heat.

Black paint has a relatively low impact on the SRI and thermal emissivity of rusty metal, especially when considering we are talking about human skin. I could be wrong but the cost to performance ratio seems poor.

Let's ignore things like long-sleeves or gloves for this assessment.

Way back in the middle 70’s around south St Louis, there was a rash of people stealing aftermarket stereos installed in cars. One solution was to install razor blades in clever places so a thief would cut his hands trying to disconnect everything and pull it out.

Did it work? No idea, the point is I love the idea of black paint. Will it stop anyone? Probably not.

You should make it hard for people to commit crimes and harder when they get caught. I read some guy in Colorado was sentenced to 54 years for chasing down two guys who stole his car and shooting them. I don’t know all the details, but I doubt I would have voted guilty.

If US Painters, paint the Mexico side.
