The first one shows the engine can't decide if it is a single cylinder or V-Twin. Suzuki likely won't make a 650 single - the world market just isn't big enough to justify the cost of making one. |

Post by LANCER on 09/21/26 at 11:34:41 Put the current DR650 engine in a standard frame with fuel injection, use current brake and suspension components, and it would be in a decent price range, and have plenty of get up and go. 50+hp It would be very usable bike. I would like that. |

Till then I just got a new Rear Tire (#4) for the 350 Meteor , it turned over 29,000 miles on todays ride . :) So I'll be ridding the 650 for a few days while I make time to change tires . |

That said, why would they not bring it back, they have the tooling, they can update it and they can try to capitalize on the huge market of E-bike riders looking to move up. Is it fake, 100%, is it a fish to try and provide Suzuki with some sort of market feel, you judge. Honda has parked a twin cyclinder 250 - 500 Rebel in the market for a long time. Looking for some feedback on that a new 650 street model would be is a no brainer for Suzuki. It is obviously fake, but would you consider a new 650, S40 twin a viable option? We ride bikes from the Stone Age, and love them for that, but going forward an FI, 650 twin, I could get on board. |

Hay , I've got a Belt Drive , 2023 , FI , 650 twin , air/oil cooled Royal Enfield Interceptor for my spare bike now , it take me back to the 1970's . I still like the Single better . ;) .......................... Those two Suzuki LS 650's I had spoiled me to the feel of a Single . ;) Now days I get by on a (bore/stroke) of (72x86mm) single 350cc Enfield (27Nm). It's geared like the LS 650's but with less power but with FI and 80+ mpg. I also have a big V-twin, a Honda Fury 1300 and here is the thing, the number of "street cruisers" seems to be a "passed fad", like the chopper craze of cable TV. Far more performance rides, cross-over and dual purpose are in the pipeline. Or the big road machines, full fairing, stereo, heat. I was at my local Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha Dealer today, a good size showroom of everything but "cruisers". They have recently added Moto Guzzy, but only had a couple models in the showroom. A lot of duals, off road and dirt bikes. The freedom a motorcyle provides to the soul on the open road, seems to have been replaced by the concept of, it must be an "adventure" or an "adrenaline rush" on a performance bike. Or did I just miss that all along. But I digress, would I go out and buy a new Savage twin, probably not. But our little thumper has a history which might intrigue some young hipsters into buying a new version for some cred recognition from the LS/S40 past. |

I hate the sound of the newer parallel twins , really quite annoying. And those rev limiters , pretty sure they are actually IQ limiters. Sorry guys , ride a thumper , the true essence of motorcycling ! I think Honda already has a bunch of fish on the line with the CB/GB 500. I’ve been to the dealer , working him for some info , left my name & number and told him to call when I’m able to put a deposit down. I recognized the sales manager probably from another dealer , but I know him from somewhere. And yeah it’s all AI crap , don’t watch it and you won’t get sucked into believing it ! |

Europe has the 350cc version now but they call it the GB 350. I don't think Honda will bring the GB 350 to us here in the USA , but ... They might bring the GB 500 to us here in the USA ? I hope they do , I believe the 500cc's Stroke is 90mm just like the 350's is. :) |

Local rides are a lot of fun on my big single and it is the bike I choose on nice sunny days - the parallel twin is far superior on long rides and going down the highway at travel speeds (cruising at the posted 70-80mph speeds are effortless and smooth). Different strokes for different folks!!!!!! :) |

That Big Single really didn't like crusing at 70-75 mph even with the larger front pulley . ;) The 650 twin really don't care how fast I want to go ... in all fairness I should add the the 650 twin is a lot newer design and production. But I love that Single Cylinder for putt putting around on ! :) If the 500cc Single never gets here , it's OK ... I just put a new battery and new tire on my 350cc , at 29,000 miles . |

I just don’t care for the exhaust note , especially when modded! I find it odd , v-twin I like , British twins I like , but that modern parallel twin just doesn’t sound right to me. But that’s ok I don’t own one , however while at the dealer I was checking out the Rebel 500 , great bike but it’s fugly no matter what color you get and looking at the Eliminator 500 but didn’t get to sit on it cause the guy who wouldn’t get off it , bought it. Eliminator looks much better but still a bit weird. Both bikes are parallel twins , it maybe inevitable ! Where’s that Honda GB 500 ? I love my big bore thumper , it heals my soul ! |
