13th annual ride to work day
07/21/04 at 14:13:51

was today!
and i rode to work for the first time, 50 miles from driveway to parking garage.
me and my riding co-workers
i'm the woman in the back.

not bad for someone who never rode except as a passenger until this past march.

Way to go!  Congrats on your ride but you need to post this type of info in advance (the fact that it was Ride to Work Day)...not that I would have done it -- can't ride the bike from the bedroom to the kitchen nook where I sign into work from!

You could have ridden out the driveway and back again  Roll Eyes

I ride almost everyday, but my distance isn't much different at 2 miles one way.....

i apologize for not posting about it earlier. i assumed everyone knew already.
it is the third wednesday in july and the site is:
Ride to Work

you can get commemorative pins, patches, download posters for printing out, stuff like that. my boss/friend (the guy on the far right) bought me a pin.

Congrats! I ride to work every day - well, almost - 70 miles a day.  It sure beats walking!

Greg - I did go for a ride to see the sunset with the wife - she found out her site is being closed - everyone is out of a job.  Of course, the ride helped her forget about it for awhile.

And if I do have to go to the work site, I do ride - best part about going to work!  25 miles which only takes an hour!

Oh I know about the "out of work" stuff.  Been there this year too.  Good luck.

Maybe 25 miles one way, but think of that as less than a gallon of gas per day too.  Right?  With my current "position"  Shocked I can drive to work for 2 months on one tank.

Yeah, I rode too... only about 25 miles each way.  It was great in the morning at 76F but at 99F on the way home, it was a little warmer.  I think a cooling vest just may be a good idea after all.
