old cotton sheets are ideal........anything polyester/plastic/nylon etc....is not. Condensation will build up.....I purchased a new nylon cover, and returned it, after finding this out, via this forum, and other web pages......so good question.

As far as the battery, I would bring it inside, if your winters are below frezing...........you can still keep it charged and ready...........cheers
