well i just brought home my new 2004 savage this weekend and was wondering if anyone has had to get any warranty work done . i plan on a few mods if any of you can remember my 86 bobbed savage i plan on pretty close to the same , straight pipe and carb work. i am worried about being denied warranty with these mods. i am not worried about fenders etc just mech . any horror stories ??? thanks again . great now i have two savages and already my husband wants the old one. we will see!!!!!

also can any tell me what really needs to be done on the first service in regards to valves stealership wants 200.00 for full first service but do valves need !!!!! to be adjusted or should i wait untill my mechanic husband can feel and hear that they need to be done.

Had my S40 since October.....550 miles.  I did all the 500 mile stuff and haven't got to the 600 mile valve check. It looks like you can check the front without removing anything so I might check it and if it is in spec assume the back is alright and wait til 1000 miles...and springtime....hate a cold garage!

No warranty work, bike runs awesome though I did adjust the idle mixture screw out to 1.5 turns, it was 1/8th of a turn from the factory.  Too lean and too many backfires.  Now rarely !

i spoke to my dealer, and he said the the exhaust mod would NOT void my warranty.

thats his story for now, lets see if he sticks to it.
