in late 40's early 50's, I rode AJS,BSA,Norten,Matchless, Enfield, all 500 thumpers. 650 twins were biggest,except for Areil square 4,1000cc (61 cu in) and HD 74 and Indian Chief, 80.my riding buddy back then, he is 86 now,ridin' an LS 650 now cause the 800 lb. wing got to be a little much for his 80+yr. old pins to hold up. gets along fine with the Savage. I bought a Savage, just to solo with. '03 1800 CSC trike is for the S/O and I to do our touring with. I'm 72 yrs. young, so, does that make the Savage a geriatrics bike?

As I said, I'm about 5'8" and the Savage fits me just fine. (ignore the gut -- the camera adds 10 pounds and I had five cameras pointed at me.) Just a slight downslope of the thigh, hands just a couple of inches below the shoulder, mirrors right at shoulder height.

On the other hand, Wendy is about 6'1", maybe 6'2" and complains that she is not comfortable. You will notice that the thigh is not sloped down, the calf is almost vertical, a definite reaching down to the grips.
