Its a matter of when (and how) not if

Well it was bound to happen.
The bike fell today, while on a winter ride. The kickstand just folded up and before I knew it...
Rear signal shattered, handgrip end cap scraped, peg bent slightly, and edge of mirror road rashed. Managed to realign the mirrors, make a quick tape job of what was left of the signal and get to the friendly neighborhood SUZ dealer and order some parts. For now I just got the signal ($65) the end cap ($4) and oh yeah a rubber tip for the shift lever ($3).
I’m going to try and live with the slightly bent peg, it is hardly perceptible.
A costly ride today but if it was to happen at least I wasn’t on it!
She'll be good as new in a week or so once the parts come in.
Be careful out there and in those immortal words "Keep the rubber side down" - even while parked!

Glade to hear that you didn't get any more damage to your scoot. Exactly a year ago, Feb 28th, I did "hit a patch of gravel, high side dump, with my '02. Bike was ok but hitting the road at speed cracked three ribs on my right side
. Man did they hurt for almost three months, needed a new helmet for my head and a windshield for the bike. Softbags on the back of the bike protected the turn signals so I figure I got off easy. Still waiting for spring around here, way too much snow to even think about getting out
. Ride Safe

Sorry for what happened,
but take a look at the bright side. You had $100 in dammages. Just imagine You had some other heavier bike and You will realize how cheap You got away. You did not brake plastics, You did not dammage the exhaust, You did not dammage the side covers, You did not touch the engine.

Good you're OK, that's what counts.
For OEM parts two really good bets is Ebay and BikerBandit.com.

CANCEL THAT ORDER! Dont pay the stealer $65 for a turn signal, they are on ebay for $19.95 buy it now price brand new. Reminds me of when I asked the dealer about a new Savage battery last week - he said $70 and I called battery plus, $33.50 for same darn thing.

Ive seen them on ebay and bikebandit but not for an 04.
Bandit doesnt seem to have anything OEM for an 04 Savage yet.
Thanks to all for the replies.

Actually there was a point in between where the turn signal changed from a semisphere to a bullet.
