Maybe a some folks would disagree with me but I support the AMA because they are one of the few successful lobbies for our rights as riders.  I'm not trying to get anyone to join but it certainly wouldn't hurt to read and learn about the organization and make up your own mind.

I have been a member and I support the AMA for what they do for the motorcycling community...such as promoting motorcycle safety and equal rights for the highways and off-road areas.

The only thing that bothers me about them is that they seem just a little bit self-serving in that they almost seem like a business trying to make a profit.  If you read the monthly magazine, they seem to focus only on AMA sanctioned events, their AMA racing championships or even Harley Davidson motorcycles.  And all while they are promoting or lobbying for various issues, they also seem to be patting themselves on the back boasting about what they have done for "you".  Maybe it's just me....
