The only reason the Savage isn't accepted in the custom realm is heritage. The "outlaw scene" was Big Twin HD/Indian, with British bikes on a case by case basis. The current custom culture grew out ofthe outlaw scene. Hence, Japanese bikes are still "not acceptable (and in most shows, not allowed)". There are gorgeous non-HD bikes out there, but until the show scene comes out of the clouds and realizes that talent is talent, and a bike is a bike, we just have to bide our time. The Savage's day will come. Remember when EVOs were considered beneath contempt? I do. Now almost every custom on the major league scene is EVO based. The pendulum is headed our way.

And for Greg, my philosophy is "A dirty bike is a ridden bike is a well loved bike". Also firmly believe " If you didn't ride her first, she'll never be yours. BUILD YOUR OWN BIKE!"
