Non M/C related: Car Rental from Insurance

My friend's Honda CB750 was hit by a cage in the parking lot. His insurance company is picking up the tab to fix it. I was wondering if he can get a car rental on insurance company's expense for the while.
No one got hurt
...
...except the bike

When I say "His insurance company is picking up the tab", I really meant that the cager's insurance company is picking up the tab.
sorry for the confusion if any ...

If the bike is his sole source of transportation, then maybe he can get a rental on their dime. If he has alternate transportation, then he most likely can't. Depends on the insurance company. Since most motorcycles are "toys", you tend to get the run around from them on car rental (and usually on reapirs or replacement
).

Update for those who are interested, I am the guy whose motorcycle was knocked over. I called the policy holder's insurance company and they quite readily offered a standard size rental. The only caveat is that I pay the rental company and the insurance company pays me.

Absolutely not!! If the other guy's insurance is already going to pick up the tab for repairing your bike, they should be able to do a direct-billing for the rental vehicle. Since you're the victim, you shouldn't be paying anything out of pocket. Raise enough hell, and they'll agree to pay for the rental. That's how I handled it the last time I got rear-ended in the cage. Didn't put up a dime for anything.
