I think the old seat just plain sits differently too; especially being two pieces instead of one.  I don't know.  It could also be how firm the pad actually is.  Maybe I just sank down into the old seat more.  All of my observations are purely subjective.  I am sure I like this seat though.

I just ordered my Gel seat from Oneida this week. I own a 2005 S40. I am looking forward to trying it out.

I would guess that someone at Oneida is thinking something is going on with the sudden rush on S40/Savage Accessories.

Nah, just the 90 mile ride last weekend and some shorter commutes this week.  I'm hoping for one this weekend but I need to check with the Keeper of the Calendar (a.k.a. my wife) as to what other stuff may be planned.

Rob,
Did you have to do the "seat mod" with the new pillowtop seat? (The one where people were adding the spacers in the front to lift it up an inch or so). I have the 2 peice gel seat from oeneida, and im not super thrilled. wondering if this pillow seat will be better? how wide is it?

yes, bugs are usually an issue here, too. But we have very dry conditions this year and very few bugs because of it.  Bad for our yards and crops Sad, good for those night rides!!!  Cheesy

I already had the spacers in front from my stock seat and I just left 'em there.  At its widest point, it's 11.25 inches.

Allright I got my new GEL SEAT i ordered the classic cus of the custom sissy bar i put on it AND IT LOOKS GREAT man looks a million times better than that old fashioned Suzuki Seat.  Here is what i did:

1. hit the exisiting bar on the fender that held in the back seat with a hammer so that it layed back at an angle.

2. Did the seat mod

3. slid the seat in the front then bent the seat a little to get it to slide in the rear tab.

4. I wasn't going to drill through my fender but the tab was scratching up the rear fender pretty bad so i drilled it in and it covered up the scratches and everything was great.

Feedback So Far:

1. I haven't ridden but a few miles but the seat feels stiffer i guess cus its newer but it does feel more comfy. i"m gonna ride about 60 miles today so i'll post my feedback.

2. LOOKS ABSOLUTLEY GREAT

3. i feel like i need to make the seat mod higher because the front has some play it seems to go down and i feel like sliding more into the tank .

i'll give more feedback later. gotta get back to work.
