I am familiar with the snake.. usually appears right after I have waxed the tank !! how are gas prices? $1.49 for reg. here in GA. ???

It's gone up in Dallas now too. I managed to get it at $2.78 yesterday at the grocery store's gas island using the discount I got for shopping at the store. Otherwise it would've been $2.84. Elsewhere in my area, I've seen it at around $2.90 - $2.95 for regular (87 octane) and $3.15 for premium (93 octane).

The worst I've seen in MD has been $3.49 for regular. Most places are still at $3.00 to $3.25.

I spoke to two gas station owners yesterday. One ran an independant station, the other had a corporate station. Both of them agreed that standard markup is ten cents per gallon. They have to pay the distributor for the whole load when the gas is delivered. They also said they'd never seen a sixty-cent per gallon rise in price before, and they have no idea where the top price might be.

I'll commute on the Bike as long as the weather holds out ...

I don't know Susan, I'm 5'4" and I fill up sitting on the bike. I like to choose places where I can stick the card in the pump and I never leave the bike...never even put the side stand down.
