s40-Rob Ex Member	new here 09/01/05 at 17:37:31 Recently purchased new s40, wife and I took it to Outer Banks on Monday, almost 200 miles round trip. Satisfied with the power, wife unsatisfied with seating comfort. Installed new gel seat before leaving, any other ideas?

It prevents you from sliding into the tank only cost me like less than 10.00 and helped my fanny and my backbone. I wish I could get a backrest but they are kinda expensive, at least for poor ole me .

I had to ride on the back seat of my own bike recently after my friend put his bike back at where he stores it when he is not riding. (He lives in an apartment and does not want to keep his bike outside there)
He is 6'1 and it didn't really make sense for him to ride as the passenger so I did. The tiny seat is fine for the short distance rides and the stock backrest is really a stable piece to lean back onto but man, I wouldn't want to be on the back for much longer than I was, let alone a 200 mile ride. I believe the Savage passenger seat was really meant for the shorter rides and for looks for the most part. I was probably the first or second person to even sit on the back on a ride. My lady won't get on the bike for anything. I guess she thinks it is some kind of demon or something. Too bad for her! Better for me!!! Grin

Welcome to THE Savage site.

I have a '97 and the rear is a gel seat. Don't know if it would be much more comfortable though. I might be willing to sell for the right price if you can't find the rear gel anywhere else.

Also I have my sissy bar and fender rail listed on eBay right now. They are currently selling for really cheap with only a few days left. A sissy bar could help her comfort a lot.
