I read about one of them several years ago. It was built into the jacket. When the rider became detached from the bike it inflated a large balloon around the upper body and head of the rider. I thought is was rediculous.

hmmm. sounds to me like somthing designed to push you off the back of the bike. Airbags have a large amount of force. I saw, during a training class, an EMT get thrown about 5 feet from a car while working on the driver. The Bag deployed late.

I prefer an angle grinder to a hacksaw!
