let me tell ya, the butt knows when to shift.

Perhaps... just the same, I learned that, for example, 4th gear (on my 4 speed) doesn't like slower than 70Km/h = 45mph, I learned that by looking down at the speedo and wondering how slow I was going and why was the engine kicking back at me  ???
I dunno, but my good'ol' MotoGuzzi V-twin 500 was a bit more polite - and she had shaft drive too.

So I'll have to get me a tacho.
BTW, I have found the Sigma 800 bicycle speedo at 22Euro, like US$30, good price?

I finally got around to installing a bike speedo on my savage and I'm very happy that I did. Clock, trip meter and speedo all in view without having to move my head (Even with a full face helmet on).

The one I use is a "Bell" bicycle speedometer that I picked up at a local sporting goods superstore. Only $15 US.

Here it is:

i got a SIGMA BC1600.  It is super kewl.  I need to buy a light for it though.  I think i got mine for 30.00 off ebay but it had more functions than the bc800.  It was super easy to install.

16 functions: current speed, cumulative odometer (2 bikes, each and combined), daily distance, settable trip distance, clock, riding time(trip and total), maximum speed, average speed, comparison actual-average speed, choice of 7 languages, stopwatch, cadence kit included, auto scan, programmable for 2 different wheel sizes
