I don't know about you guys, but I take that statistic as a real insult!! :'(  What's wrong with my savage?  Why don't you thieves want to steal it?  Don't you know what a great bike it is?

I think i'll park it downtown with the keys in it...just so the other half can see what they're missing! Wink

Thats one of the reasons why I have second thoughts about getting a HD.  Here in Japan its pretty bad,  I have two friends that got their Heritage Classics ripped off,  and thats with alarms, expensive locks, and pretty hard to get to parking spaces.

What would a HD heritage classic sell for in Japan?

How about a hyosung gv650 instead and slap harley stickers on it!  You'd have the last laugh on the thieves! (on second thought, maybe not - you'd still be down a bike)

That is the secret that we don't want the other bikers to know so we can have that "Feel Good Sensation" when we sit next to HD rider at the stop light

It sells for about $22,000 new and about $18,000-$20,000 used.

That's about the same as around here, unless they've bolted on another 5k of chrome. so if your going to steal a crusier seems reasonable to grab a 18k bike instead of a 2k bike - the jail time (if any) would be the same.

A lot of the Savage being " least likely to be stolen" is the fact that its not very common, not worth much chopped up ( for parts I mean ) and  h3ll alot of people have never even heard of one.
