I have a '97 Savage with some mild customizing. It has a H-D soft tail muffler and custom connector pipe, took all the hardware from the rear fender and put on small bullet signal lights that also work as running lights. I also put on a side mount license plate bracket with a chrome Model A Ford stop light. I had to make the bracket for the light from a chrome fuel pump block off plate for a small block Chevy. It really cleaned up the rear fender. I left the holes on the fender open. I drilled lightening holes in the front heat shield and in the drive sprocket cover using a drill press. Reminds me of the old Indian dirt racers. The bad news is that my wife can't ride any more so I posted it in the Market Place section. Hate to part with it after I did the work on it but I have my own bike to ride and I can't justify  keeping them both.

Keep the chrome side up!

I've got my "shocks" painted now... but lost my tank snake when I had the tank off for a couple of days (Someone knocked it over and gas leaked out...)

And my new security blanket, uh, chain.

Sorry it's a little blurry.

Want to get a shorter chain so I can tie it up at my watering hole...

How does it stand up to gasoline?  My paint is always coming off due to gas...  makes it look real nasty...

On the exhaust too?

No, the exhaust is high temp paint. The liner paint is not affected at all by gas. Nothing bothers it.

Hi Guys

Finally got round to registering! I click on this site most lunch times whilst at work. Grin
I've had a Savage for about 7 years, and about 6 months ago I stripped it right down to nothing.
The bodywork has gone to a guy at the local Ford garage who is going to spray it "Performance Blue"with a little extra metal flake.
Then a local airbrush guy is going to show me how to "Flame" it and he's going to do the flames in a light pearl colour.  Grin
I will send in some piccies as and when progress is made!

And just because I enjoy showing it off so much, I'll go ahead and post another pic of my recently bobbed Savage, Mr. Hyde.
