'Hammer away at the baffle', you say... but wouldn't a decent power drill with a long enough bit/point/whatever, anything between 3/8" and 1/2"? Maurizio

I've got a straight thru Porker Pipe to put on when I get all the bits of her back together!! Cheesy

Can't wait to hear what she sings like in that dress!!

The only trouble here in the UK is that the Feds are real strict on illegal pipes :'(

We were on an Easter Egg run the other day (approx 20 bikes) and a copper overtook us one by one to check the bikes. He eventually pulled the lead rider cos of a small number plate. Checked his pipe (which was a "not for road use" straight thru. Luckily he had bought one of those signs off Ebay days before that you fix to your pipe to make it seem legal! Confused the copper!! Grin

He couldn't understand why it was legal. Anyhow, he let the rider off with a warning for the plate when he found out what he did for a living.......another Police Officer. Ha Ha Grin

Sorry to read what the EPA is doing to you guys re Custom bikes etc!

You should be able to get one on E-bay, just make sure you get pre 2004. I bought two mint condition ones not too long ago for $41.50 delivered.

pgolden Ex Member	Re: Exhaust Sound Reply #21 - 05/08/06 at 14:27:51 The '04 and newer Harley mufflers have a crossover pipe connecting them together. If you use one of those you will have a large pipe flange pointing out of the front of the muffler. UGLY

My stock was pathetic at idle, but when I opened up the throttle it made quite a satisfying wop wop wop. The Sportster might be a very little bit louder under hard accleration but I can't notice from the drivers seat at least. Perhaps it's much louder if you're beside or behind me. I'm still not loud enough to get any rude looks though. In my case the sporty just made it sound like a bike instead of a moped.

However, I did mine as soon as I got the bike, so I am not really sure what a bone stock Savage/S40 will do as far as mileage goes.
