Replacement Seat for Boulevard S40
08/07/06 at 10:48:35

Hi Everyone,
I'm a new lady rider and am enjoying learning on my '05 Boulevard S40.   A burning question concerns replacement seats for the bike.  I'm comfy on the stock seat for about an hour.  Anything longer than that; well, I'm sure someone out there understands...LOL  Anyway, are there any recommendations on aftermarket saddles?  I've looked on some major brand websites and no replacements are listed for my bike.
I'd appreciate any and all suggestions based on personal experience......
Thanx

see here:

Or you can buy a new OEM gel seat from Suzuki

or, I got one of these (in medium size) and it helps ALOT (plus you can move it from bike to bike)

Welcome.

Check out the new seat post in the cafe section.  I believe that azjay posted the pics of the mods that he did on debras bike.

Riding more does help.  I got an insert and wish I had just gotten the sportster seat.

Good Luck figuring it out.

thanx everyone for the suggestions.  If I go with the modified Sportster seat, which one is it, as far as model and year.  Also can't connect to the link for the instructions on how to do it.  I saw the bidding for the seat with directions on ebay but would like to have a back up plan if I'm not the high bidder.   Another question - if you can do mods to a Harley seat, can you do mods to a Mustang or Corbin seat the same way?
 ??? ??? ???

those are good questions. the "savage conversion seat" from ebay, that we bought, is from a recent ('04,'05,'06?) "sportster custom" model, i used the "buy it now" feature, i consider $100.00 cheap for the benefit, and the seller's instructions are useable, i opted to do it my way, as i do much of the time. Grin

the corbin or mustang seat for the same sportster should fit with similar modifications, but at 3X the price, i didn't consider that the most cost effective solution.

ps. admin, can my seat mod post be moved to the tech forum? i was going to rewrite it there, with more pics, but it seems i'm a bit short on time these days. maybe i can modify/update it later?
