It's not that bad if you remove the shocks and jack the bike way up, otherwise it is difficult to get a wrench or socket in there.  Just stick a car jack under the flat part of the exhaust bracket that runs the short way across the bike.  An offset wrench or wratching wrench  may help if you don't want to take the shocks off.  Also, on the left side of the bike, the fender does not come all the way down, so there is a little space in there for you to get your hands in.  Don't recall if the belt guard needs to come off or not.  Electrics are easy to disconnect.

don't fool around with the shocks.  just remove rear wheel. then you have plenty of room to remove 4 bolts.
they used the "you and never getting it out" locktite on them.  you can get a better angle so as not to a. strip heads when socket slips, b. socket slips and you bang hands all up.

been there done that.  designed the shirt.

When I pulled mine off, I took off the left shock and removed the wheel.  I don't know that taking the left shock off made any real difference, but I liked having the little extra room to maneuver myself.

What Sluggo said about the bolts.  They're a pain in the neck.  Suzuki apparently never wanted a rear fender taken off a Savage.

Electronics are simple, except for one thing that attaches on to the fender pretty low down.  I don't recall specifically what it was or why it gave me trouble, I just remember being frustrated with it.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, used-up, worn out, and defiantly shouting 'Geronimo!!!'
