Read about the white spacer mod and rejetting in the Tech Ref forum but please read the posting guidelines there before posting anything.  In general, the LS650 is quite lean from the factory and increasing the airflow by changing to a freer-flowing exhaust will make it leaner.  You'll have to compensate.  Probably 40% of this site is filled with posts discussing this.  A few searches on key words should give you more information that you need.  Definitely read the Tech Ref forum though.

If it's a stock Harley muffler, not a Screamin Eagle, you might be able to get by without a rejet. Your bike will be running very lean and will turn the exhaust blue from the extra heat. If you want a good running bike that lasts a long time, I would suggest you rejet. Trust me, there is a huge difference in the performance. Starting and cold bloodedness should improve too.

Even stock the bike benefits from rejetting. It's worth it once you're done.

No offense to Dynobob -

I have a softail muffler on mine (just fitted - also not too long ago fitted slot in K & N air filter), so it is stock. No popping, even after fitting filter. Put on muffler - mucho noise but mucho popping - really annoying. Definately in process of rejet!!

George, loving working on his bike more every day!  Cheesy

If the Muffler has the factory baffle and you have a stock airfilter you should not have to rejet. If the baffle is drilled out and/or you have an aftermarket filter - you MUST rejet to keep from burning the valves.
Just my 2 cents

Some may be able to get by without  rejetting but most will require it.  It all depends on the engine involved ... like most things, everyone is a little different.  Even the factory settings can vary a bit.

I put a HD turnout on my 96. I have stock air filter so I just adjusted the idle screw out a bit.
