Here's a pic I submitted to bikepics last year.

The boots are a little shorter now since I put on a fork brace. The install required removing the forks & handlebars & took a few hard tugs to yank them out. I got the boots from Dennis Kirk, about $15 if I remember. They're made by DayStar, part # F00058. Dennis Kirk part# 58-626.

They look great! I 1/2 expected when I clicked on the photo to get bright dayglo almost blue motocrosss ones!

Fitted them to every bike in back home in London (rain washes London grime straight in there - out here in the SW it'd just be the phenomenal amount of dust).

However, I seem to recall I took the front wheel & mudguard off too (mainly drum brakes, so on the Suzuki the caliper too) & slip boot over the nobs on the lower fork leg.

Wouldn't it work on the Suzuki? Think I'd rather do that than loosen pinch bolts, take gear off h/bars & take bars off to get them on.

If you read this, babbalou, please respond to this - I'd love a pair & hope for easiest installation. Incidently, nice pic, nice bike - bars are like mine but little narrower - much better than buckhorns (I took off), eh?

I never thought about doing it that way, but I looked in my Clymer manual and it looks like it could be done. Not sure if it would be more or less difficult. I've seen neoprene fork boots that just wrap around & close with velcro. Probably just as functional but it just wouldn't look right, except maybe on a dirtbike. I learned the hard way to attach the turn signals BEFORE attaching the forks. Embarrassed Had to do it twice. Glad when it was done, beer time. Cheesy

thanks for info - i'll start my (aka "the easy") way if it looks doable & then change if have to - taking it all off "up if small(er) i.d. of gaiter/boot may preclude it.

incidently the wrap around type don't sound as good - some crap would get in surely , even if join was @ the back, & then the boot may in fact act as "bellows", blowing/driving dirt into seals as they compressed thus defeating purpose  (?)
