can't say now - I moved here in 1987 when Savages were new bikes & never saw them there. can speak for "normal" bikes - apart from the back brake gear lever (opposite sides of bike) on old(er) British bikes the other ones were much the same as here, your usual Japanese & some German. not a pletora of Milwaukee Iron lugging around the British countryside, where they would have stuck out like a sore thumb.
Now the Savage would have fit in wonderfully, just like my very light (based on a XT500) 1979 Yamaha SR500 single road bike - amazing through the turns with a set of Dunlop tyres (sic) & Girling (brand) shocks on the back!
the Savage makes me think of it a lot... with lots of

moreover, who says we drive on the wrong side of the road - I always thought the left was the right side if you catch my drift.
(seriously, I could give a very good historical lesson, dating back to men on horseback armed with swords as to why it is logical to ride along a path on the left side towards a passerby. it's to do with drawing your sword with your right arm across your body, where it is hung on your left, in case of a threatening guesture from the other person. basically why the left was chosen in England. think those durn foreigners/Europeans messed it up)
